6 Reasons Why November Is The Best Month

We all have that one month that we look forward to 11-out-of-12 months a year. If you're thinking of your favorite month right now, I can pretty much guarantee that it isn't November. However, there are many reasons why it should be.

1. The Return of Red Cups
Starbucks celebrates the return of the holiday season with their infamous red cups. Not only do they get you in the Christmas spirit but drinking a peppermint white mocha in a red cup is the right way to enjoy November.

2. Thanksgiving
Say goodbye to your swimsuits and say hello to food! November is the prime month for food. The Pilgrims and Native Americans didn't get along to watch you skip out on a great Thanksgiving feast. So shove that swimsuit to the back of your drawer, gather around the table with your family and enjoy the food!

3. Holiday Movies
Starting Nov. 1, we all are guilty of breaking out the Christmas movies — maybe it's just me — and getting a jump on the holiday season. From a classic like "Miracle of 34th Street" to "Elf," Christmas movies are now acceptable to watch without being judged.

4. A Break from School
November is a very relieving month of school. Everyone is celebrating their miraculous survival from midterms. This month should be valued because it is the calm before the storm. In this case, the storm is finals. So relax and think about how you are almost done with another semester at UT!

5. The Return of Leggings and Boots
Okay, girls. It's that time. November is the best month because it is officially time to whip out those leggings and boots and wear them to class. Not only is it easy and comfortable, but the temperature is steadily in the 50s so you won't go from wearing boots to sandals in less than 24 hours!

6. A Thankful Month
Talking about what you're thankful for is one reason why November is the best. Whether it is a daily Facebook post, Instagram picture or just a simple conversation with a friend, we like to express how thankful we are. No matter what it is, this month puts everyone in the spirit of being thankful and that alone is another reason why November is great.

Although these are only six reasons why November is the best month of the year, this is only my opinion. So go out, experience the best that November has to offer and form your own opinions about why this month is one to celebrate and enjoy!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
