6 Reasons Why Long Distance Is Worth It

Long distance is hard. It can make or break relationships and many times it's too much for the couple to handle. However, the times it does work it can really make you stronger as a team and couple and can be very rewarding. While it has its challenges. Here are some reasons it's worth it:

1. You become great at communicating.

Your whole relationship is built on talking in every form, snapchat, text, calling, facetime, which makes you really good at communicating.

2. You have to make an effort.

It's easy to see which one of you is willing to make an effort in the relationship and how much you want it to work. The fact that you are both willing to put in effort never makes it unclear if you both really want to be together.

3. You appreciate every second you're together.

You aren't together that much so you love every moment you have together. It doesn't matter what you're doing as long as you're together. If something as simple as going to the grocery store makes you happy, you know you're doing something right.

4. You don't take the little things for granted.

Holding hands, getting to watch a movie together, cuddling, they are little things that you don't always get and when you do, you absolutely love them.

5. Time flies by.

Time spent together goes by so fast because you use every second to its greatest potential. As soon as you leave them, you count down the days until you'll be together again.

6. You get so excited to see each other.

Seeing each other is so exciting and you get so happy to see the other person. It feels like the first time you've ever seen them and it makes it all the better when you finally do.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
