6 Reasons Why Hufflepuffs Make The Best Friends

Hufflepuff is the most underrated Hogwarts house. Some Harry Potter fans like to make jokes about how Hufflepuffs are just the leftover people that didn’t get sorted into another house, or say that the only notable thing about Hufflepuffs is that the entrance to their common room is closest to the Hogwarts kitchens. But the reality is that Hufflepuffs make amazing friends. Here are 6 reasons why.

1. They see the best in everyone.

Hufflepuffs are very accepting and believe that everyone is important. They’re not easily scared away from a potential friendship and will genuinely want to get to know you. For every flaw you see in yourself, they can find something great about you. They want people to feel good about themselves, and will be the first ones to tell you what makes you special.

2. They’re empathetic.

Hufflepuffs tend to be very intuitive, and can usually tell how you’re feeling, maybe even before you know yourself. They’ll be the first to ask if you’re okay, and will always lend a listening ear if you need to talk. On the flip side, they can usually tell if you need to be left alone, and will give you the space you need.

3. They can have fun anywhere.

Hufflepuffs can thrive in lots of different situations, and they’ll have a good time as long as they’re in good company. Whether it’s going out with a group of friends, staying home and watching TV or just sitting in a park and talking, a Hufflepuff will enjoy the company of a good friend.

4. They want to make the world a better place.

Many Hufflepuffs are passionate about topics of social justice, and often use their talents to try to improve the world around them. When you’re friends with a Hufflepuff, you’re setting yourself up to be the best you can possibly be because they’ll always emphasize showing kindness, compassion and understanding toward others.

5. They’re patient.

Hufflepuffs understand that people make mistakes and can usually sort out the reasons for people’s actions. So if there’s ever conflict in your relationship with a Hufflepuff, they’ll likely be very understanding. As long as everyone apologizes and is clear on how to move forward, Hufflepuffs are very patient and tolerant of mistakes.

6. They’re loyal.

It might take a while to get to know a Hufflepuff, but once you’re friends with one, they’ll always be there for you. Hufflepuffs aren’t the type to disappear from your life during a tough time, and will stay by your side through thick and thin.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
