3. Its food supplier in China was caught with tainted meat.
A secret film revealed workers inside the processing plants of Shangai Husi Food handling food with their bare hands, putting meat that had fallen on the floor back into the processing machine, and repackaging expired beef and chicken products with new expiration dates. When the scandal emerged last year, more than 3,000 cases of the tainted product had already been sold.
4. About half of its stores are open on Christmas and employees do not get holiday pay.
Who wakes up on a glorious Christmas morning and thinks, “Wow, I could totally go for a Big Mac right now?” If you are not going to pay employees a living wage, at least give them the holiday off.
