6 Reasons To Look Forward To Spring

Stop teasing, Mother Nature.

6 Reasons To Look Forward To Spring

I don't know about you, but I'm ready for spring! Stop teasing, Mother Nature. I have had too many slips on ice, runny noses, and overbearing coughs for this season.

If you want to get pumped for spring with me, keep reading!

1. No more layers!

Everyone understands the struggle of needing to bundle up before braving the chilly winter weather. Undershirt? Check. Sweater? Check. Socks? Scarf? Gloves? Check, check, and check. Too much to worry about, in my opinion. And then there's the impending doom of taking it all off once you reach shelter from the cold. Ugh!

With the arrival of 70 degree weather, you'll never have to worry about begging your significant other for their jacket.

As Michael Kelso once wisely said:

Seriously though, I'm ready for sunglasses, sandals, and sundresses.

2. Outdoor concerts.

Don't get me wrong; all concerts are awesome! But there's something special about lounging outside on the lawn with your friends while listening to some awesome tunes. There is a lot more room to dance and let loose, too!

3. Driving with the windows down.

If you told me you had never driven around with your friends, blasting your favorite song with the windows rolled down, I would call you a liar. And if you truly haven't, you really should! Enjoy the heat and soak up those rays before they become too hot to handle.

4. Rebirth of nature.

Say "hello" butterflies and gorgeous flowers because all the beautiful life we lost to the extreme cold is making a comeback! While the crunch of autumn leaves under your boots can be a pretty satisfying sound, soft flower petals on the sidewalk are a welcomed sight! Nowadays, it can be easy for us to neglect our environment. Earth Day is April 22, folks. Give back to our outstanding planet by planting some trees here and there. I'm sure the earth would appreciate it!

5. Daylight Savings Time!

OK, this is pretty self- explanatory... who doesn't like an extra hour of sleep? I mean, um, productivity.

This year's daylight savings time is Sunday, March 13 at 2 a.m.

6. Spring Break

This probably could have gone at the top of the list, but I think it fits just as well here. SPRING BREAK! The little break us college students receive about midway through spring semester. This vacation is welcomed by many and seized by everyone. Usually, it is the first time since winter break that we go back home to visit loved ones. And by loved ones, I mean our pets. And our family, too!

One thing I must ask of you, fellow college students, is that you make smart decisions that won't result in future negative repercussions. Be smart, be safe, and have a rad time!

All in all, there are a lot of reasons you should be looking forward to Spring 2016. I know I am!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
