6 Reasons Why Pugs Are The Best Dog Breed

Because how could you say no to a face like theirs?

Pugs have become a very popular breed of dog in the United States. I've been seeing pug videos, pictures, and merchandise all over social media which makes me so happy because I am a major pug lover. I guess you can say I'm pug-sessed! A lot of people think that pugs are ugly or weird, but I love them! Of course, I love all dogs, but I just think pugs are the best breed of dog and here's why:

1. They're so chubby!

I mean, just look at those rolls! Pugs are naturally chubby, and can be healthy as long as they get exercise and maintain their weight. I love that pugs are chubby because when I pet them, it's different from petting any other kind of dog. Their rolls make them even more cute!

2. Their faces are adorable in spite of their wrinkles, pushed in nose, and huge eyes.

I think that these features are what make pugs so unique! Their faces are definitely ones you can't forget. Though their nose doesn't help with their breathing problems, they're still cute as a button. And how could anyone resist those eyes? Even though they bulge out and go in different directions sometimes, they're still part of what makes pugs so cute.

3. They're great with people.

Though they are stubborn and won't do what you want them to do half the time, pugs are great with people. I don't think my pug would hurt a fly and even though she barks at people she doesn't know, she doesn't jump on them or try to bite them. In fact, she backs away because she's unsure about them and gets scared. She loves little kids, and always greets them when I take her for a walk. They really are a great breed for families!

4. They can wear clothes.

Since they might get cold in the winter, it's actually beneficial to put your pug in clothes. They're small enough to do so, but the only problem is that most of the time they'll stretch out their sweaters and their rolls will spill out of them but it's okay because what can be better than a pug wearing clothes?

5. Their tails look like cinnamon rolls.

Pugs are also well known for their unique and coiled tails. When they wag them, it's so funny because it's different from most (normal) tail wagging we are used to seeing. Their tails are just interesting and they uncoil when they go to sleep.

6. They will love you forever.

My pug is always there to cheer me up and she knows when I'm sick. She really is part of our family, and I couldn't ask for a better dog! Even though they hate being held and squeezed, pugs let their owners know how much they love them by greeting them everyday, spending time with them, and giving them lots of pugs and kisses. They are such a lovable breed in spite of their odd physical appearance and if you have a pug, I promise that they will be your best friend!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
