I've been home for less than a month, and I'm loving it. However, it is hard not to miss my life at college because, sometimes, it is easier to live at a college where it is its own little community. For the rest of summer break, I'll be enjoying the warm weather and relaxation while also missing these six crucial aspects of the college life. Side Note: Christina Yang will never be forgotten!
1. Food is always available
Not only is food easily accessible, it is free with a meal swipe or flex dollars. Therefore, Starbucks and Chick-fil-A are always an option.
2. Driving is unnecessary
Since gas is 2.80 now, driving is not a valuable option when you don't have a job. Having everything in a walking distance makes life a little easier.
3. You are never alone…most of the time
Roommates are awesome because you don’t have to worry about not having someone to hang out with. Being a person that loves to have company, the whole roommate thing is way better than being alone.
4. Your room is smaller, so it is easier to clean
I still haven’t fully unpacked from college. I'm planning on leaving everything packed until I have to go back, I guess. This also means I can't find anything of mine. This includes my Birkenstocks. I have lost one shoe of each pair I have...
5. The gym is a 2-minute walk instead of a 15-minute drive
It is just so much harder to find motivation. When it is next door, it is a constant reminder to get into shape.
6. My friends are a lot closer
Having college friends that live 1-3 hours away is not ideal, and again, gasoline is 2.80 a gallon. It is too expensive and too far away. Being at college means that I can go on a spontaneous run to get doughnuts at 2 am.
