6 Reasons Why Living With Roommates Sucks

I love them all individually, but sometimes we get under each other's skin.

6 Reasons Why Living With Roommates Sucks

Don't get me wrong, I love the three girls I live with; however, it can be a challenging experience from time to time. It's much different than living at home with your parents or living in just a dorm room. This year has already been an experience. I'm sure I am also guilty of doing these things, but they are annoying.

1. You don't know their cleaning habits.

Some of us like to keep the apartment spotless and looking presentable, while others of us leave our trash and food everywhere. It's hard finding a healthy balance between the two.

2. You don't know their sleeping habits.

Some of us need to get up early for classes, while others of us don't need to be up early because we have late classes. A few of us have to stay up late to study, but some of us prefer to get to bed early.

3. They exclude you.

Living with people, obviously not everyone is going to be BFF's, but sometimes it's easy to feel closer with some roommates and not others. It's hard to avoid, it's a sad fact of living with more than one person.

4. Laundry is a hassle.

There's always someone's clothes in the dryer when you need it. Me, just like everyone else tends to leave their clothes in the dryer until they need them again. It's more convenient that way, but it's annoying to everyone else.

5. Food is also a struggle.

There is only a certain amount of cabinet and fridge space, so not everyone can have all the food they want. The freezer and fridge is always overflowing with leftovers and lots of groceries no one actually eats.

6. Walls are thinner than you think.

Whether it's the radio, television, or friends, you can hear everything. It's especially inconvenient when you're attempting to study, nap, or just relax. We can hear whatever happens at all times, even at the wee hours of the morning.

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

mu bucket list

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…

Great Value Colleges

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.

The winters at Kent are brutal, and while the heated sidewalks and some great snow boots are always a help, there’s no chance you won’t bust it on the ice at least once in your four plus years at school.
