6 Reasons Why I Couldn't Wait For Fall Break

There truly is no place like home.

So many of my college friends live local enough to be able to go home on weekends if they feel like it, or they will sporadically have visits from parents and siblings. Being nine hours away, I, on the other hand, do not have this luxury. While there were a few weekends where I wish I could have been home, being away for so long makes fall break so much more special for me. It's all I could think about to get me through last week, and here are the things I daydreamed about.

1. Two names: Cooper and Lucky.

Need I say more?? Just look at those faces! There's nothing worse than not being able to pet those furry little faces.

2. My bed

While I will admit that my bed in my dorm is very comfortable, there is nothing as divine as my bed at home. It is bigger and better, and fall break gave me some of the best naps all semester.

3. FOOD

Home cooked meals, REAL pizza, and New Jersey bagels!! Food in Ann Arbor can be good, but it's nothing like food at home. I might have gained the Fall Break Fifteen but it was totally worth it.

4. My bathtub

Right before I left for college I got a bag of bath bombs as a graduation gift that I was never able to use. The week leading up to break they were literally all I could think about. A relaxing bath has never felt as good as it did this weekend. Not having to wear shower shoes or carry a shower caddy down the hall with you is definitely something I took for granted prior to college.

5. Visiting my high school

I'm not sure why people in college like to act as if they don't miss high school. Sure, college rocks, but high school did too and there are some days when I really miss all of my high school friends and teachers. Going back to visit my alma mater, even if it was just to watch a couple sports games, was a huge highlight of my fall break.

6. Friends and family

Most importantly, this fall break allowed me to be with the people I love and missed the most. When I'm with friends and family, it really doesn't matter what I'm doing, I'm simply happy to be with them.

To those who celebrate, you just spent an entire day cooking an elaborate meal with all of your favorite foods. You probably ate your body weight in pumpkin pie and mashed potatoes. What happens now? 18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
