As college students, many of us rely on coffee on a daily basis. We enjoy coffee for different reasons but there are definitely a few common ones that are shared.

1. It Wakes You Up

This one is a given. Most people drink coffee right away in the morning because of the high caffeine levels. It's a great way to wake yourself up in the morning and it accompanies any breakfast food wonderfully.

2. It Tastes Awesome

Coffee is the best way to get me up in the morning, no doubt. However, I love the taste of the stuff too. I like regular coffee with a little cream and sugar or, when I want to treat myself, a vanilla latte from Starbucks.

3. It's Versatile

Coffee comes in so many different shapes, sizes, and flavors, it's almost impossible to keep track of all the different beverage options unless you work at a coffee shop. Not only are there like, a million types of brewed coffee, but there's a whole list of espresso, iced and blended drinks to remember.

4. It's Cheap

While there are cheaper options out there (yes, a can of soda may only be a dollar but it has way more sugar than coffee), coffee is definitely an affordable beverage for you daily pick-me-up.

5. It's Better for You Than Other Caffeinated Beverages

It's no secret that plain old coffee has way less sugar in it than regular soda (approximately 25g less than a can of Coca Cola) but did you know it also has way more caffeine? While a regular 12 oz. brewed coffee can have anywhere between 95-200mg of caffeine in it, a can of Coca Cola only has between 25-35mg (via Mayo Clinic).

6. It Comes Hot or Cold

I personally like my coffee hot most of the time but having the option on a scorching summer day to enjoy a cup of your favorite beverage in cold form sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

So however you may enjoy your coffee, keep it up. You deserve a cup of this caffeinated wonderful cup of joy.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
