Now that Thanksgiving is over, I can safely indulge in all the Christmas festivities.

For me, Christmas music and movies start the day after Halloween. My dorm room has been decorated for about a month. I just love the holiday season for a million reasons, here are just a few.

1. 25 Days of Christmas

Freeform's 25 days of Christmas is what I live for. Once that schedule goes up I instantly search for my favorites including, A Year Without A Santa Claus, Jack Frost, Elf and many many more.

2. Happiness

Christmas just makes me happy. The lights, the smells, the food, the people, the movies; everything.

3. Decorating

Who doesn't love trying out those DIY decorations that have been pinned on their Pinterest for years? Plus, Christmas decorations are sparkly and adorable.

4. Hot Cocoa

It's warm and it's sugary. You can cuddle up by the fireplace with your fuzzy socks and your favorite mug while listening to some old-time jazzy Christmas tunes.

5. Hallmark Movies

To Hallmark, Christmas is a lifestyle. Hallmark Christmas movies start before Halloween, which personally, I fully support. There is such an abundance of Hallmark Christmas movies. The plots are so predictable, but honestly, that's the fun part. You can never be disappointed.

6. Family

In the end, your family is what makes the holidays really special. What's the point in all the shimmering lights, sparkling glitter, warm hot cocoa, and feel good movies if there is no one to share it with? They share the love and the laughter with you, and the holidays is when everyone comes together to just be happy and share memories.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
