6 Reasons Why You Should Adopt A Cat Immediately
Alexander Gonzalez

In the few short weeks since I have adopted my own little kitten, my life has changed completely and most definitely for the better. At first, I had my doubts about whether I would be a good parent or if I'd be able to always provide the best for my furry best friend, as I know am sure almost every cat owner has. But after living, loving, and caring for my little guy, I now encourage everyone I know to go out and adopt a cat or kitten as soon as they can! Here are six of my main reasons why:

1. They will provide you with endless love.

If you have never experienced unconditional love (from someone other than your mom) then you will be amazed at the wonders it can do! My kitten has given me a new look on life since I know he'll always be there to give me love, kisses, and cuddles. Bringing me to my next point...

2. You'll always have a cuddle buddy.

Lonely nights are a thing of the past, once you adopt your very first cat. I had no intention of going full Dr. Suess on Y'all, but it worked so it's staying! Cuddling up in bed with a good book is how I used to spend many of my nights, now I get to do that with a cute kitty laying in my lap purring until he falls asleep each night. If you have ever felt super alone or sad, having a constant companion will definitely improve your morale.

3. When you're feeling down, they'll always cheer you up.

Whenever I'm stressed from finals, endless amounts of homework, or just coming home from a long day of work, knowing my best friend is waiting for me always brings a smile to my face. The other day, I was driving home from a long day of work, stressing about the multitude of term papers I had to fit into my schedule that week, and just the thought of my baby running up to me upon my opening the door always cheers my mood.

4. Your motivation levels may skyrocket.

Not just will your mood be constantly elevated, you may or may not experience an uptick in your levels of productivity. In my own experience, just having the responsibility of another life has made me sleep in less often (I have to get his breakfast ready); get my assignments done faster and without procrastination (so that I have more time to play with my kitty); and maybe this is unrelated but I've started flossing twice a day and it's become fun, so who knows how your life might improve!

5. Nights in will no longer be boring.

If you're getting bored of staying in to re-watch another season of your favorite Netflix binge-worthy show, then this may be your purrr-fect solution. I can entertain myself for hours just watching my cat play with his toys, running around wildly, or even just sleeping and I'm sure the cute pictures that come from those nights in will definitely make your next scrapbook the best one so far.

6. You'll now have your chance at internet fame!

What is the one thing that the internet will always agree is the best way to spend your time? If you guessed anything other than watching cute cat videos on Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube, then you would be absolutely WRONG! Everyone adores the viral videos that constantly star little cats, and your kitten may be the next viral sensation! I mean, without cat videos I honestly do not believe the internet would be as advanced as it is today because why would it need to be?

If you read through this list and were convinced by even one of the reasons I listed, then you should definitely consider stopping by your local shelter and adopting a kitten of your own! If you weren't convinced, then I don't believe you actually read this list and I shall now direct your attention to the very top.

Now, in all seriousness the world is filled with kittens and cats that long for loving homes and friends, so be the hero they need you to be and who knows, maybe you'll find the love of your life in the process.

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.
