This weekend I visited Harding University to see a Jesse McCartney concert. While I was there, I was thinking about all the ways that colleges are similar and also how they are different.
1. They have nicer dorms than you do.
Andy Dwyer gets me. This is how I feel every time I see how nice the dorms are at other schools. You have a full kitchen and a living room???
2. They have a lot more people.
I just want to get McDonald's... why is it crowded. Why is every place in town crowded?
3. They have their own slang.
There are places on campus with names, but that is not what they are called. Their club names are super confusing and I still have so much to learn.
4. All the boys are cuter.
Pretty much feeling like an awkward flirt around every beautiful male specimen.
5. You are thankful for the friends you have there.
Without my incredible Harding friends, I would have had no ticket to the concert, no place to stay, and no one to show me how to get around. Without them, I would not have seen Jesse McCartney. For that, I am forever grateful.
6. Nothing will ever replace the university you call home.
It's nice to hang out for the weekend, but getting back to your university is one of the best feelings ever. You appreciate your friends, tiny dorm room, and meal plan so much more after a weekend away.
