6 Must Reads for Struggling Girls.

It's okay to struggle, it's okay to want help. These books are ways you can find that yourself and begin to build yourself back up. It takes commitment, time, and effort, but these books have proven to me that they are so worth it.

1. The Comparison Trap

By: Sandra Stanley

If you've read any of my past articles, you have probably seen me mention this book just a few times. It is so good if you're looking to help with having what God says about you come between your opinions of yourself and others. Life isn't always a competition, and by nixing the comparison trap so many women are stuck in, we can start to celebrate others and their accomplishments rather than comparing them to ourselves.

2. When God Writes Your Love Story

By: Eric and Leslie Ludy

My mom and her friend led an amazing bible study on this book with some friends and I at my house every other Monday night. It was amazing to see people my age begin to commit their love story and future to what God was writing rather than our own precompositions of what we thought our "fairytale" should be like.

3. The Chase

By: Kyle and Kelsey Kupecky

I have written a book review on The Odyssey for this one before, but it's too good not to share again. A beautiful and real love story of Kyle and Kelsey Kupecky is shown in this book, and it also encourages girls to wait for the guy that is going to chase not only them, but God.

4. Live Original

By: Sadie Robertson

If you're anything like me, you're already obsessed with Sadie Robertson, so why not pick up her book? She is able to relate so well to young girls and this book is full of inspiration that makes you want to get up our of your bed and go make a difference in the world.

5. Praying for Your Future Husband

By: Robin Jones Gunn and Tricia Goyer

Yet another great book about praying diligently for your future husband. It is never too early to start doing that, and can be such a powerful thing in your own life and in your future spouse's life.

6. Uninvited

By: Lysa TerKeurst

I have just started reading this new book and I'm LOVING it! It is speaking to so many areas of my life right now. You definitely need to run to your nearest bookstore or log into Amazon and buy this book as soon as you close out of this article.

In fact, just head on over to Amazon and buy ALL THE BOOKS.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
