6 Promises To My Sisters

Because you mean so much to me

6 Promises To My Sisters
Amy Aroune

Sisters are the greatest friends anyone could ask for. Here are just a few promises that my sisters need to hear.

1. I will always be here for you.

No matter the situation, the time of day or night, I hope you know that I will always pick up the phone or answer the text. Urgent or not, your problems, concerns, or worries will always matter to me.

2. Your secrets will always be safe with me.

Just like all your worries, all your secrets matter to me. I promise you can always confide in me with anything, and it will always stay between me and you.

3. I’ll always worry about you, and most likely will always annoy you.

But it’s all good, because that’s just what sisters do. Even if we’re not together, I still like knowing you get home safe and you have people who are with you that are looking out for you. And if I’m supposed to hear back from you and you don’t let me know you’re safe, get ready for the annoying call from me. But it’s all in your best interest.

4. I’ll never judge you.

OK, maybe a little, if you actually wear those shoes with that dress. All jokes aside, you and every part of you is beautiful and unique, and just as God intended you to be. I will love you and all the things you don’t like about yourself.

5. I’m always willing to share my clothes with you.

Somehow you always pull off my clothes better than I do. For that reason, and because I have a big heart and a bigger closet, what’s mine is yours.

6. I’ll always be honest with you.

There are a lot of dishonest people in this world, so I promise to be the refreshing truth in your world. You may not always like to hear it, but I will always answer all of the questions you ask me with sincere, genuine advice.

The bond between sisters is something truly like no other. I promise to love you always.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
