We live in a time where technology has allowed us access to so much almost instantaneously, and because of this we have the ability to research more than any generation before us. In what is probably deemed selfish, a lot of people use this access to better understand themselves.

To see what their personality traits are, where they are best suited to work, their relationship needs, which real housewife they are most like, you get the picture. There are tests that are commonly known, and taking these tests to see what your personality type, or love language is could be helpful in interacting better with people.

1. The Meyers Briggs Test

This test is one that is known by most people. It is a self-reporting questionnaire that highlights the psychological preferences of individuals in regards to how they see the world around them and make decision. Introverted v. extroverted, sensing v. intuition, thinking v feeling, judgement v perception. This test will help you realize how you view situations, and how your reactions might affect those around you. It's good for the work place, friendships, sports teams, pretty much anywhere.

2. Love Language

So this test really helped me realize what it is I need in a relationship to feel appreciated. And it also helped me realize that the person I am with might need something different. So while you might think you are showing them how much you like and cherish them, they aren't getting that from your actions because their love language needs are different. This one was extremely helpful in me being able to articulate what it is I want and need from a relationship.

3. How to Fascinate

So this test is really good for helping you make your best first impression possible. This test measures how other people perceive you at your very best, and helps promote your most influential traits. Another good one for the work force, especially as you're breaking into it or starting the interview and hiring process.

4. Alex and Ani Blue Print

This is not in any way shape or form an Alex and Ani advertisement or endorsement. This is me telling you to check out your personal blueprint, which takes into account your astrological sign, your numerology, your archangel, etc. This is nice because it gives you a break down on a simple scale of your different personality traits. Plus it gives you gift ideas to tell your family members.

5. Enneagram

This is another personality test where you honestly answer questions about yourself and are aligned with whichever of the 9 personality types you have. These personality types are all interconnected and this test will help you discover how you interact with the different enneagrams.

6. Chakra Test

So Chakras are not an area in which I have a lot of understanding, but from what I gather, your chakras are energy centers that are found in the midline of your body. This test tells you which of your chakras are open and helping you live a more positive life.

So while personality tests are all subjective, and depend on the honesty of your answers, they are a great way to help you understand yourself, and how you interact with others. Dominant personality traits are different for everyone and knowing your most dominant traits and how they interact with other and different dominant traits is important to making connections that last and positively impact your day to day life.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
