6 Things People Who Love Fall Can Relate To As Described By Tyrion Lannister

I start thinking about crisp nights and cool air around the end of July when I realize I am over sweating just like all the time. Loving fall does not make you "basic" and sometimes you need to be free to embrace your season loving self.

6 Things People Who Love Fall Can Relate To As Described By Tyrion Lannister

I am well aware that it is not technically fall, however, I am a fall baby and am in love with the season. I start thinking about crisp nights and cool air around the end of July when I realize I am over sweating just like all the time. Loving fall does not make you "basic" and sometimes you need to be free to embrace your season loving self. So, here to help me out is everyone's favorite third child and notorious self-acceptance advocate, Tyrion Lannister.

1. When someone calls you "basic" for just really liking everything about fall weather.

Guys, there is nothing wrong with loving sweaters, leggings and pumpkins okay.

2. Walking into Starbucks on September 1st to buy your first Pumpkin Spice Latte (or pumpkin loaf).

This applies to when you see pumpkin anything and realize you must have it. It has an undeniably good flavor and one that is extremely unique to fall in general, so anyone who tries to deny you the pleasure of indulgence deserves to take up the black and serve on the Wall forever.

3. Discovering one of your friends doesn't enjoy fall or fall lovers

I mean, I am friends with people who are indifferent to the season, but I don't think I have any friends who just don't enjoy it. Of course, I could be sad for leaving them, but how can you be emotionally attached to someone who hates it?!

4. Waiting for the leaves to change is nearly unbearable

I now live in Louisiana where the leaves don't change, and it really bothers me. When I go home for Thanksgiving I love the colors on the trees and it is one of the the best parts about fall.

5. When you're able to cozy up with a good candle burning and a fluffy blanket because it is chilly outside

Honestly, there should be days off for purely enjoying the fall. I mean, we get the summer to enjoy it and relax a little more, why can't we have fall appreciation week where we can just enjoy being cozy and comfortable with friends?

6. Finding the perfect sweater (or sweaters, because you need so many)

At one point in my life I had 23 sweaters and I wore them all. I am sad to say this is no longer the case, but i fully intend on restocking this year! They're just so comforting, it literally feels like you're in a perpetual hug.

So, if you love fall embrace who you are without fear of being "basic" or unoriginal. It is a cozy, comforting time where you can be more relaxed with your life and you can do fun things like carve pumpkins, go on hayrides, or simply hang out with friends while enjoying a night of eating pumpkin pie in your sweaters.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
