Being pale isn't just about a skin tone, it is almost a way of life. There are certain things pale people suffer through that tan people will not know a thing about. The list goes as follows:
1. Sunburn, lots and lots of sunburn
It would not make much sense if anything other than sunburn was on the top of this list. Most, if not all people know how much sunburn sucks, but pale people are even more susceptible to it. It does not matter how many times we put on sunscreen, getting burnt on a hot day is almost inevitable. Let's not even mention the obvious fact of how much it hurts, definitely don't forget to apply sunscreen, it's your best friend.
2. Having to spend hours in the sun to reach a normal person's skin tone
Most people love summer, but for the pale people, we are not always fond of it. We either have to spend a lot of money 'fake baking' in a tanning bed, putting on self tanner, or basically spend every waking and breathing moment we have to obtain a somewhat bronzed look.
3. Finding makeup that matches your skin during winter
Although I may not be considered 'tan' during the warmer months, I am definitely a lot darker than I am during the winter. One of the biggest challenges I face during the colder months is trying to find a foundation that matches my skin tone without making me look like the ghost that I am. I am not looking for a pasty white foundation @makeup creators, just porcelain like my skin actually is!
4. Having people constantly tell you that you remind them of a doll
"I don't think I have ever seen skin so light before, you look like a doll. Such porcelain skin". Yeah yeah yeah lady I get it, I am so pale it doesn't look real, people with light hair and light eyes probably get this the most.
5. Sunspots, freckles, moles, lots of all three
These seem to come out of the blue. With skin so light, it is hard not to have a least one of the three take up a decent amount of your body. Every time I go out into the sun I swear I come back in with at least two new sunspots.
6. People always pointing out how pale you actually are
Yes, I know I am pale, there is no reason for you to point it out to me! Do people go around and constantly talk about your "normal" skin tone? No, probably not, so leave mine alone.
