Everyone knows fall is great because of sweaters, pumpkin spice and Halloween, but what about the other unsung heroes of the season? There are some things that are amazing about this time of year that we just don’t appreciate properly. Here are six of them.
1. Candy Corn
This is one of those things that polarizes people; you either love it or hate it. Personally, I love it. And even if I didn’t, it’s still a fun thing that is distinctly fall.
2. Cold Weather
Of course everyone loves the cold weather, so that’s not weird. What’s weird is how amazing it actually is to be cold. Because when you’re cold, you get the chance to be warm, and warming up by the fire with hot cocoa is the best.
3. Crunchy Leaves
I’m not the only one that likes to step on all the crunchy leaves, right? Right? Even if you’re not a child anymore, it’s still fun to pick out the leaves that look crisp and hear the satisfying crunch under your shoe as you obliterate it. Such a simple experience can turn any frown upside down.
4. Sugar Cookies
You may read that and think of winter, but fall has some amazing cookies. There are the pumpkin-shaped ones with sugar on top, the thick ones with super-sweet frosting, and the pre-cut ones with pumpkins on them that you can stick in the oven. No matter which one suits your fancy, though, they are all perfect to eat while warming up from the cold outside.
5. Night Comes Early
Some people hate this time of year because the sun rises earlier and sets later. You have to appreciate it, though, because getting up before the sun makes you super productive. Plus, it’s easier to be cozy and warm when you come in from the cold, dark night, and can kick off your shoes and bundle up.
6. Winter is Coming
Fall is awesome. The colors, the sounds, the smells, the candy, the leaves, the weather, it’s all fantastic. But let’s be honest. It’s really amazing because it means it’s almost winter, and that means we’re so close to the holidays. We’re just lucky enough to have this pleasant time to get us pumped up for the true best season.
