6 More Offbeat Date Ideas

1. Book Store Exchange

This happens to be one of my personal favorites. You and your SO go to a book store, find one book each that means something about their self, and buy it for the other to read. If that's too much pressure, then you could find a book you think they'd like even if you've never read it yourself. Then you can either make a day of it and just spend it reading with each other, or you could plan the next date once you both are done reading so you can talk about it with each other, book club date style.

2. Brewing up a Sweet Date

"Want to get drinks sometime?" just got an upgrade. Take your SO to a local brewery or vineyard. It's a fun activity you two can do together. There will be so many tastes that you two can debate which is best. And if there's one you both really like, pick some up on the way out for the next date.

3. Trivia Smack Down

A good amount of bars and restaurants host Trivia Nights one day a week every week in which there are prizes (usually gift certificates) that you and your SO can team up and battle it out for. This works greats for double dates or group dates because either you all can work together or face-off with couples. Or if you're the competitive kind of couple, you two can always be your own team and see who comes out on top.

4. Buried Treasure

Antiquing isn't just for old people anymore. There's just something about going through an antique store that makes you feel like you've traveled through time. So you and your SO can set each other a limit of $5 or $10 and try to find something that they might like. The possibilities are endless, and you never know what you might find!

5. Swingers

It's not what you're thinking. Do you ever just wish you could be a kid again, just for a little while? Well you can! Pack a lunch, grab your SO, and go to the nearest park to have a picnic playdate. Swing on some swings, slide down some slides, and maybe play a game of tag. Then after working up an appetite, you two can get ice cream for dessert.

6. Laugh it Up

Do you and your SO want to go out but are tired of the same old bar scene? Go to a comedy club! You two can still drink, but you might have beer come out your nose. A good sense of humor can liven up any date, so why not have a whole date centered around it? If you two would rather stay in, watch some Gabriel Iglesias or Kevin Hart, both of which should be on Netflix.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
