6 Love songs

Well in a few weeks is the next thing that is going to happen which is Valentine's Day. Yep let's all be excited about this day that is happening in 2 weeks. Valentine's Day for me was something I personally did no like because I did not have a girlfriend, but this year I am actually excited for Valentine's Day because I actually have someone to celebrate with this year ;). So I decided to do a list of 10 love songs by bands or musical artists internationally known.

1. Follow You by Bring Me the Horizon

For the first song of this list comes from the band Bring Me the Horizon. This song comes from one of their newer album, That's the Spirit. The song has a lot of dark, spiritual and love inside the lyrics of the song. I knew about this song for a little while, but did not truly like the song until my girlfriend sent it to me one day to listen. This song is one of the multiple soft songs that the band has released over their history. The lyric "So you can drag me through Hell, If it meant I could hold your hand" talks abut chasing someone through the flames of life to just hold onto the other person's hand through it all and to never let go. The song is very soft and dark but the song is totally worth it to play as a love song in a Valentine's Day Spotify playlist. To rate the song from 1 to 10, 1 being non-romantic and 10 being romantic as fuck. I would give the song a 9.1/10 because the song is good enough to be a love song, but has a dark twist on it that some people may or may not find it romantic as others would love the song as a love song.

2. Sidney by Palisades

From their debut album, Outcasts comes their soft song titled Sidney. The song starts off with a very promising strum from the acoustic guitar the Lou begins to sing and also brings in a block on the drums. The song primarily talks about the relationship and the future of being with someone forever in that persons life. The lyrics "the days and the weeks and the months pass by, I can't get you off my mind" talks about the crush developing into more than a crush into someone who wants to be in someone else's life forever. The song also tells a story about crushes becoming a relationship and a relationship becoming a marriage to the rest of the person's life. Towards the end of the song comes in wedding bells which meant that the crush became a close marriage. I do not know if this song is about anyone in the band's life but I cannot say. So on the scale from 1 to 10, I would give the song a 9.8/10 because the song is really good to listen to with your girlfriend/boyfriend but for newer relationships could send the wrong message to rush into marriage. But the song is really good detailed story of how a crush becomes a relationship which would hopefully become a marriage in the future.

3. If it Means A Lot to You by A Day to Remember

From the album Homesick, comes the boys from Ocala, A Day to Remember. The song begins with a beautiful acoustic beginning before Jeremy begins to sing. The beginning lyrics talk about how the person is missing their significant other while being far away from each other. The song when it adds the la, la, la, la part of the song makes the song that makes it much better as it explains the talking of everything being nice with talking. Then, with the second verse brought in the female vocal (suppose Jeremy's ex now) talks on the other end about missing the other and makes the other want to feel it but she cannot help when they're far away. Towards the end of the song the guitar and the drums begin to pick up and then everyone starts signing la, la, la, la to bring the togetherness of everyone to be brought back together after being so far away from each other. The scale now come out from 1 to 10, I would give the song a 8.5/10. The song gets the rating because the song is really well played out but some people might think this is about a long distance relationship which it is, but for people who are not in a long distance relationship may or may not understand the point of the song.

4. Diamond Girl by Set It Off

From their brand new album Upside Down, comes the song Diamond Girl. The song starts with a sort of stargazing tone before the drums come in to make the feeling of being a diamond real. The beginning of the song talks about how the guy makes the rounds on the girl while she is out, but after that talks about how he would not hurt her/him like the others did to her. The second verse talks about how he cannot get her/him off their mind and won't ever hurt the other. Even the chorus talks about why the other person let the person go and that the other person was an idiot for letting the girl/guy go. The main purpose of the song was to explain how one guy used a girl and the other guy would cherish her and keep her happy all the time. The lyrics "He let me steal you like a thief in the night" talked about the fact that the other guy who used the girl let the other gut steal her like a thief. The song has a lot of meaning to me because this describes how me and my girlfriend became a thing because stuff happens and I won the game and theft her to myself. So on the scale from 1 to 10, the song would get a 9.0/10 because the song seems like a classic story that is all to much the same because the girl had a guy who did not like her and then a better guy came and wants to make sure that she would not ever become upset or dissatisfied with him/her.

5. Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars

Speaking of the list having artists known internationally, here is the first person, Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars. The song talks about how amazing a girl is from all of her flaws to her perfections. Bruno is making the connection that all guys need to do is love your girl fro everything and not just for a few things. The music video for the song illustrates the love infused into the song with the tape from the tape recorder to point out everything that the song is explaining. The song compliments girls from their flaws to being something good because if a guy truly loves you then he would love you for your flaws and your perfections. The song has toppled charts in 2014 for months and months on end. On the scale from 1-10, Bruno Mars's song rightfully deserves a 10/10. This perfect score is because this love song can be played at anytime during the relationship like newly dating, years dating, engaged, married, and so on. The song makes a girl's self esteem rise by two clicks and makes their heart race a lot throughout the entire song.

6. My Heart I Surrender by I Prevail

Version 1Version 2

Now to a newer band from Detroit, Michigan in I Prevail. The song is My Heart I Surrender as the song comes from their debut album Lifelines. The song is just a beautiful song in general from the acoustic guitar or the regular guitar depending on what version you listen to. The song has a lot of feelings in it due to the nature of Brian having such a beautiful voice to sing this song. The song talks about no matter who you end up with that if you love them a lot then you surrendered your heart to the other person to cherish and to hold. This song actually is beautiful to hear in person and can make anyone decide to fine their loved ones and hold them throughout the entire song. This entry is the only one that has two versions to it as the first version is straight up acoustic and the second version was re-released for their debut album with the guitars and the kick drum. If you ask me which version I like, I like both versions because that is how good it is. The scale on 1-10 is the song gets a perfect 10/10. The reason the song gets a perfect score because like the Bruno Mars song, it does not matter which part of the relationship you are in if you love that person so much to give them your heart to hold onto forever then make it happen. The song gives couples the reason to remain happy all the time and know that they love each other that much to give their hearts away.

Well here were the 6 love songs that I chose and listened to. Love is a complicated but beautiful thing do not let one guy/girl ruin your life. But once you find that special someone then play them these six songs. If anyone thinks I missed any love songs, place them in the comment section below.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
