I love traveling alone.
Why?
1. I can listen to whatever music I want...
Miranda Lambert's "Gunpowder and Lead" on repeat seven times? Yeah, I did that once.
2. ... Or no music at all.
Audiobooks are wonderful. Really. There are some great narrators that read some great stories.
3. No one is in the passenger seat gasping when I make turns, or jumping every time I hit the brake.
Because, really, backseat drivers are the worst.
4. I can go at my own pace and not have to worry about other people needing bathroom breaks.
(Even though I'm the one who usually need them first).
5. If I see something cool, I can stop.
(Unless I'm on a deadline, of course).
6. There's a TON of time to think.
When it's just you and the open road (especially in the middle of nowhere where I'm traveling), your mind wanders. Sometimes I will turn off the music and just watch the road fly under the hood of my car. I get to drive through this little town with antique shops and other little houses. It's serene.
