6 Life Lessons We Can Learn At Walt Disney World

People know of Walt Disney World as the place where dreams come true, or the happiest place on Earth. It is filled with beautiful fairy tales, great food and fun attractions. Although all of the things that make up Disney World are fantastic, when you look past them there are many wonderful life lessons hidden in all of the fun. Here are six life lessons that everyone can learn from Disney World.

1. There’s a great big beautiful tomorrow:

Shining at the end of every day, the Carousel of Progress is the only attraction at WDW that Walt Disney has been on himself. It’s a little dated and, for most people, going on it one time is enough. However, I think everyone should experience it at least once because the message behind it is beautiful. The attraction and the song from it promote positivity, innovation and enthusiasm for the future.

“Man has a dream and that's the start, He follows his dream with mind and heart. And when it becomes a reality, It's a dream come true for you and me. So there's a great big beautiful tomorrow, Shining at the end of every day. There's a great big beautiful tomorrow, Just a dream away.”

2. Any dream is possible.

Multiple times a day in the Magic Kingdom there is a castle show called “Dream Along With Mickey" where Mickey, Minnie and Goofy teach Donald about the power of dreams. This show gives a powerful message in a fun way and reminds every to never stop believing in their dreams. As Mickey says:

“By remembering about the power of dreams, you reminded us all that when we believe in ourselves, and our friends, and our family — why, there’s nothin’ we can’t do.”

3. It’s a small world after all.

While you may not want to risk getting the song stuck in your head, Small World is a fantastic attraction and the song really gives the whole message. In this attraction you will travel around the world and see that is really is a small world after all.

“It's a world of laughter, a world of tears. It's a world of hopes and a world of fears. There's so much that we share that it's time we're aware: It's a small world after all.”

4. It's a big blue world.

"Finding Nemo: The Musical" may not be the favorite attraction of a lot of people, but this song is a great reminder that the world is big and needs to be explored. You may not be swimming your way across the ocean, but there are adventures to be had, so take a tip from Nemo and explore what’s out there in the big blue world.

“Can you believe there are so many things? In the big blue world, I'm gonna go explore. In the big blue world, that I've never seen before.”

5. Wishes.

The best fireworks you will ever see happen every night in the Magic Kingdom and they come with a powerful message: Never stop believing in your wishes. The fireworks are set to the music, as well as quotes, from a wide range of Disney movies, all talking about wishing. You go from hearing Cinderella wish she could go to the ball to the voice of Aladdin wishing Genie free and Peter Pan wishing that he’d never have to grow up. Wishes are a powerful thing, and the beauty of the fireworks over Cinderella's castle, accompanied by a perfect soundtrack, is a reminder to everyone to never stop believing in WISHES.

“Remember, we must always believe in our wishes, for they are the magic in the world.”

6. It all started with a mouse.

One of Walt Disney’s most famous quotes is, “Let us not lose sight of one thing: that it was all started by a mouse.” On a train ride home to tell his brother Roy that they had just lost everything they had, Walt drew a little mouse. Walt did the things that everyone else said was impossible. He was never afraid to chase his dreams. The mouse he drew on a train ride became the face of many TV shows as well as a theme park, named after Walt himself: Disneyland. Now there are many theme parks across the world in addition to many other movies and products. Walt Disney World serves as proof that nothing is impossible and that you should never be afraid to chase your dreams.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
