We all have those couple of makeup products that we splurge on. Whether it be a certain lipstick because we found the perfect shade, of a concealer that offers the perfect amount of coverage, we convince ourselves that spending an ungodly amount of money on one product is okay because it's so great. But what if I told you that you could find another product that does the same thing for a lot less? Here are six of my favorite dupes.
1. Nars Copacabana Illuminator $30 vs. NYX Born To Glow Liquid Illuminator $7.49.
The swatch really speaks for itself here.
2. Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray $30 vs. e.l.f. Makeup Mist & Set $3.
I've purchased both of these, and the only difference I've discovered lies within my wallet. E.l.f.'s product last just as long as Urban Decay's and will keep your makeup from sliding everywhere.
3. M.a.c. Pro Longwear Lipstain Marker $59.99 vs. e.l.f. Lip Stain $3.
There are some slight color differences, but other than that, the pigmentation, texture, and long wear-ability is all the same. You can find a variety of e.l.f. lip stain shades in almost any drugstore or one-stop-shop. (The flash in the first photo make them seem shinier than they really are.)
4. Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer $16.00 vs. e.l.f. Mineral Infused Face Primer $3.
I have used Smashbox's primers for years, little did I know e.l.f.'s primer works wonders too. To be honest, at first I was thrown off by the unappealing packaging, but after I got over that I really didn't encounter any issues with my makeup lasting throughout the day.
5. NARS Blush in Goulue $30 vs. Ulta Cheek Color in Sunkissed $10.
Ulta's own makeup collection is something that shouldn't be looked over. Just like Sephora, they put out their very own line of products. I found that Goulue and Sunkissed are practically identical, for $20 cheaper, of course.
6. Nars -- Radiant Creamy Concealer $24 vs. Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer Pencil $20.
Ah, yes -- concealers. I've tried more concealers so far than I have anything else. Not much of a price difference here, but I find the the 24/7 pencil has the same pigmentation and brightening effect (if you chose the right shade). I will say that Nars does offer a wider array of shades, but I find the pencil to be easier to work with.
