6 Gifts to Get Your College Aged Boyfriend

With the giving season approaching, most girls are shopping for Christmas gifts for their man child that they call their boyfriend. Now, if these women are anything like my girlfriend, they're probably out shopping for clothes to dress their boyfriends in only to see those clothes in the back of his closet come the week after Christmas. When it comes to guys, unless we specifically ask for clothing, it's the biggest let down to get clothes for Christmas. That being said, Christmas gifts are not the same unless some love and care are put into the gift. So, here are some gifts you may want to consider getting the guy who puts up with your wonderful self.

1. Custom Beer Pong Table

This one will take a little time, but that's why this article is coming out now. You will need the following:

-Collabsible folding plastic table (found at Walmart, Target)

-Sand paper (heavy grit at first working down to lighter grit)

-Spackle (optional for filling in any logos)

-Paint (*painting skills)

-Epoxy

Follow the same steps you would for making a cooler, but just apply it to the table.

2. Custom Cooler

Coolers aren't just for formal any more. There's a lot of reasons to get him a custom cooler for Christmas. For example, you started dating after formal. If you really want to get creative and put him to shame with your engineering skills, mess that thing up with a sound system and aux port.

3. Noise Cancelling Headphones

Get him some noise cancelling headphones so he can drown out the haters and not be distracted by the chick over there who is obviously trying to get his attention. Also, you can admit that every once in a while you do snore and it's really been affecting his sleep.

4. A Venus Fly Trap

Figure out how good of a father he will be by seeing how long he can keep something alive other than himself. Plus, it'll take care of all the flies that are flying around the trash can that hasn't been taken out for the past 3 weeks. Also, as far as plants go, Venus Fly Traps are cool AF and he won't get too much trouble from his friends for having a plant.

5. Custom Sport's Jersey

This is the one bit of clothing every guy will gladly take without specifically asking for it first. If you are just trying to get him something nice, get his favorite player on the back or customize it with his name on the back. If you are a little obsessive, get yourself one with a couple's customization on the back.

*Not guaranteed he will be as enthused about the couple's customization

6. Alcohol

Put your own touch on it and craft on the alcohol or find a fun way to put it in a bucket or basket. He may not enjoy the crafts immediately but if he uses enough of the gift in a short period of time, he'll be guaranteed to love it.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
