Winter Fashion

It's December and that means winter is fully upon us. It's time to grab your mittens and scarves and prepare yourself for the snow. But doing so can be fabulous and fashionable! I've seen all over Instagram and Youtube gurus sharing their favorite winter favorites. So I've compiled some of my favorite winter fashion you can wear this holiday season! Whether you're going last minute Christmas shopping, going to a tree lighting festival, or heading to your family's house to celebrate the holidays, there is an outfit for everyone!

Before the weather gets too cold, try paring your long sleeve shirt with an oversized cardigan. That way it keeps you warm but still shows off your shirt and any jewelry you might wear! Paired with a cute bag and some boots? Winter perfection!

Another look for that beginning-of-winter-weirdness where it's not that cold but still pretty cold is this comfy and semi-casual look. Any sort of jeans pair with a sweater or even a long sleeve t under a long jacket is an easy way to look put together but still stay warm. You could add a scarf or cute hat and switch out the shoes depending on how cold it is. Open toes pumps, cute lacey heels, or even some ankle booties would all look so cute with this.

As it starts to cool down even more find yourself some fun jackets! Maybe some with faux fur to really see in the winter mood. An accented jacket like this can be dressed up with heeled boots and a nice bag, or dressed down with some snow boots and warm hat.

If you're anything like me, winter is the time to break out my favorite leather jacket. Layered over a cardigan and a long sleeve with a big scarf keeps you nice and warm, while still keeping your edgy flare. This kind of look goes perfect with some leather boots!

If you're not that edgy but still like to layer, get an oversize cardigan and use it as a jacket. Put it over a thick shirt or another sweater, add a fluffy scarf and you're ready to rumble. Pairing it with some warm wedges can also make your super comfy outfit look fabulous and ready for a nice out!

Of course there is the basic outfit everyone loves. Leggings, sweaters, scarves, and knee high boots. It keeps you comfy and casual and ready for day full of holiday baking and spending time with friends.

To me, winter is all about layers and making any outfit pop with the right scarf, jacket, boots, or bag. Your shirt and pants will get mostly covered up if you're spending any length of time outside, so you're outer layers are where the fun can happen!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
