Throughout my life I've found that I read my Bible more when I'm going through something challenging. I know it's important to seek God every day no matter what circumstances you're in, but starting college really pushed me to do that even more. It's such a drastic change, and I know I'm not the only one who has days that feel lonely, stressful, and completely overwhelming. In the past few months, I've been in God's word more than I used to be, and that really makes a difference. Here are some verses that encourage me, and I hope they do the same for you!

1.

The Lord is our Shepherd, and we're his sheep. If we allow Him to lead us, we don't have to worry and our lives will be at peace.

2.

I have set the Lord always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. ~Psalm 16:8

This one is on a notecard where I can see it every day because it gives me so much assurance to face whatever comes next.

3.

It’s so easy to do things with a motive to receive approval from others, and this verse helps remind me who I’m serving. This brings joy and purpose to whatever you’re doing, even work that seems meaningless or tedious.

4.

Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

~Matthew 6:34

Lots of nights, I lie in bed unable to relax because of thoughts rushing through my head of all the things I have to do the next day. Remembering that God is in control of everything is what helps me relax and stop worrying.

5.

When you can’t be sure if anything else is true, God’s word is the one place you can go to for an answer.

6.

Rejoice in each day and live it to the fullest because it's a gift from God!

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
