Music can be that extra something that motivates you to keep pushing. These empowering pop and alternative songs are just that. So give them a listen, check out their music videos, and add them to your pregame and pre-study playlists. You won't regret it!
1. "Walk On Water" by Thirty Seconds To Mars
When I looked up this song after hearing it on the radio, I did not expect it to be by Thirty Seconds To Mars! It’s not their typical tune, but I love this song. Walk On Water is a great pregame song/pre-workout song. If you need that extra hype, you can find it here.
2. "Sorry Not Sorry" by Demi Lovato
Demi Lovato has done it again!
Getting over an ex? Need to speed up the process? Then Sorry Not Sorry was MADE for you. This song is all you need to remind yourself that hey… you’re a savage and your ex is missin out. BIG TIME.
3. "Whatever It Takes" by Imagine Dragons
Imagine Dragons is one of my favorite bands, and they have done it again with Whatever It Takes. If you’re feeling overwhelmed with all the work you have to get done, this is a song that can inspire you to keep going. Sometimes you just need to be reminded that you have whatever it takes to make it to the finish.
After you look up this song, make sure to give Thunder a listen too!
4. "Look What You Made Me Do" by Taylor Swift
Both of Taylor Swift's new releases (…Ready For It? and Look What You Made Me Do) are empowering songs that are must haves for your workout playlist. With awesome beats and invigorating lyrics, they’ll give you all the motivation you need. (May I add that Look What You Made Me Do’s music video is ICONIC).
5. "The Man" by The Killers
This is the best song to cruise to! You best BELIEVE I have gas in the tank and money in the bank! The Man is a classic reminder that heck... you got it.
6. "Praying" by Ke$ha
The last song on this list, Praying is a little bit different than the other songs I've mentioned. Instead of having a hard-hitting beat or forceful lyrics, it stresses the power in moving on and wishing the best for people that have hurt you. I love it and Ke$ha’s incredible comeback.
