Thanksgiving. A time of relaxation. A time of thankfulness. A time to be surrounded by friends and family. The only thing standing between us and our break right now is school. Papers, tests, and homework seem endless. Thanksgiving is upon us and together we can make it through this dreadful final week of class before freedom. We all know these are the emotions that flood our heads as we work to make it through the week.

Monday: Denial

How is it possible that we still have an entire week ahead of us? The Monday blues are tough, but the Monday blues the week before Thanksgiving are almost unbearable.

Tuesday: Anger

Is it really necessary for our professors to STILL be assigning papers and tests? I have had three papers due this week. Shouldn't there be some sort of rule that the week before Thanksgiving break should be a relaxing one in preparation of a full week's worth of naps?

Wednesday: Hopeful

It's hump day. We've made it halfway through the week. There's hope. We're starting to see the tiny sliver of light at the end of the tunnel.

Thursday: Blissful Joy

BECAUSE IT'S THANKSGIVING LUNCH IN THE CAF. The greatest day of the entire year. Carved turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and pies by the dozen.

Friday: Sheer Accomplishment

We did it. We made it through the week. We survived the hundreds of papers and tests that were trying to drown us and keep us from our Thanksgiving turkey.

Granted...OBU still has to attend classes on Monday and Tuesday of the following week, but does that really count? What's the point of those two days anyway? We all know that the main focus floating around in everyone's mind is which piece of pie they're going to eat first at Thanksgiving dinner. We made it through the last full week before break, so I think that in itself deserves a pat on the back.

The Final Emotion: Thankfulness

The one emotion that we feel all week long. We have the privilege of attending an amazing school with professors that care about us. We are surrounded by family and friends that are waiting to greet us as we travel home for Thanksgiving. There's food on the table and a roof over our head. God is good and Christmas is only a few short weeks away. Thankful is an understatement.

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
