I got the green thumb about a year ago and since I haven't stopped searching and buying plants for my apartment. There’s something about a colorful succulent sitting on my window seal that just brings my whole room together. It took me a while to figure out which plants were best for my apartment, since It doesn't get much sunlight, but after a few plants dying on me I learned which plants are easiest to have and take care of.

1. Haworthia

Haworthia is a succulent that has a spiky texture and is super easy to care for. Mine came in a pot mixed with other cacti. These plants can live in a low light environment and are more prone to die if over watered. I usually water mine once a week and sit them on my window seal.

2. Echeveria

Echeveria is one of my favorite succulents because they are very colorful. I usually only water mine once a week, and I spray the leaves every other day or so. The leaves tend to dry up a bit and that helps keep them in tact.

3. Aloe

One of the easiest houseplants to have is Aloe. Aloe doesn't require a lot of watering and can grow in a sunny or shady area of your home. It’s also very convenient to have in case of a sunburn or skin irritation. You can just cut off part of the Aloe and use it. No need to worry about damaging the plan because it will heal itself and continue to grow.

4. Bamboo

Bamboo is the first plant I ever owned and they grew quicker than I expected. I kept mine in my bathroom where the only light it had were my incandescent bathroom lights. Some people say that they should be in a bright room, but it really just depends. They are versatile and are very low maintenance.

5. Mint

Mint is definitely a plant I want to own! They have a great fragrance and you can easily use them in your tea. Mint can go anywhere in your home and is a low maintenance plant.

6. Pothos

This plant makes for a great beginner for those who are new to caring for plants. It requires very low light and can even be placed inside your office or bathroom as an extra home decor.

Caring for plants doesn't have to be difficult especially when there are so many easy to care for plants out there.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
