6 Things That Are Easier To Find Than Parking At Utica College
Utica College

I don't even have a car, however, after becoming a commuter and getting rides with friends, I have felt the struggle of being the look out for a spot, ANY SPOT, on U.C's campus. More often than not, the time it takes to find a parking spot is the same amount of time it would have taken me to walk two miles to class--and back if we are being honest. Most students I know know the daily struggle of finding some white lines to park in so they don't have to park on the grass. Here are 5 things that are easier to find than parking at Utica College:

1) Waldo.

Finding him is a cake walk compared to this, trust me. I can locate ten waldos by the time it takes a student to circle the parking lot and wait for someone to pull out of a spot.

2) Snuffleupagus

It is easier to find Big Bird's imaginary woolly mammoth friend than a parking space.

3) Motivation to do work

I haven't seen this in months and we've only been in school for like three weeks--and if you do happen to find it, please tell me. But it would still be easier to find than a space.

4) The other sock

You know what I'm talking about. You put in two socks in the laundry and came back with one. It's probably gone forever, but if you look really hard you might find it before someone gets parking.

5) My car

I don't even have a car, that's probably why I haven't found it yet.

6) My keys

There have been times where I've forgotten my keys and had to climb in through an open window. They disappear on me all the time and I swear it's because of a black hole in my bag, but my roommates say it's because of my crappy key chain. The time it would take me to look for my keys in my bag, realize I've lost them, climb through a window, and promptly find my keys on my sofa would take less time than finding a space to park.

8 Things I Realized After My First Semester In College

Actually, Kylie Jenner, 2018 is the year of realizing things.

The first semester of college is famous for being one of the most difficult transitions of one's young adult life. You're thrown into a completely new area where the majority of the people surrounding you are strangers in an academic environment that's much more challenging then what you've grown accustomed to for the past twelve years. On top of that, you probably share a room with another person (or even multiple people) on the lumpiest "mattress" you've ever slept on.

With this change comes a lot of questions: what do I want to major in? What am I passionate about? Is what I'm passionate about something I'm actually good at? Why does the bathroom smell like cranberry juice and vodka? What is that thing at the bottom of the shower drain?

6 Unrealistic Expectations Society Has For Young Adults

Don't let the thesaurus-inspired vocabularies in our résumés fool you. We're actually just big kids.

Well over four feet tall and 100 pounds in weight, many of us "young adults" of the world still consider ourselves children. Big, working, college-attending, beer-drinking children. We may live on our own, know how to cook noodles, and occasionally use a planner, but don't be fooled; the youthful tendencies that reside within us still make their way into our daily lives. From choosing to stay up until 3:00 a.m. playing video games on a school night to going out in 30 degree weather without a coat, we still make decisions that our parents and grandparents would shake their heads at in disappointment. So why are we expected to know exactly how to be a wise, professional, sensible adult? It's not that we're irresponsible (for the most part, anyway). It's that we are young, inexperienced, and still have the sought-after, enthusiastic mentality that we can do and be whatever we want, which has not yet been tarnished by the reality of the world. These are just a few of the unrealistic expectations that society has for young adults.
