Let's be honest, there wouldn't even be a thing such as college without professors to educate us. There are great professors, weird professors, professors who you can't understand, and professors who, despite their best intentions, put you to sleep. Here are some of the professors you'll meet in college:

1. The 8 am lecture professor

If this professor isn't engaging or entertaining, the lecture room will without a doubt turn into naptime.

2. The professor who thinks their class is the most important.

This professor expects perfection on all assignments. Anything less leads to a class-wide scolding. This professor doesn't realize that their introduction to writing class is filled with students who don't want to be writing majors.

3. The awkward professor.

This sweet, sweet professor tries their best to make whatever subject they're teaching interesting to the class. Unfortunately, they try a little too hard sometimes, leading to many awkward moments, corny jokes, and long pauses.

4. The "chill" prof.

Coming to this class is the best break in the day for a student. The professor essentially never gives out anything less than a B, making students like them even more.

5. The talker

Once this professor starts talking about an interesting part of the subject they teach, there's no stopping them. Going into office hours to ask one question turns into an hour-long monologue about the importance of statistics.

6. The teacher who turns into your mentor.

These professors are like hidden treasures in college. They actually want to help you learn, care about more than just your academic performance, and provide guidance when you don't know what you're doing.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
