6 Characters From Lost You Can Relate To

"Don't tell me what I can't do".

So, I'm about halfway through the show "Lost" which aired in 2004. It's probably the most complicated show I have ever watched, and I'm sure that people who have watched it will agree with me. I took a Buzzfeed quiz to see which character I'd be and I got John Locke, but I've come to realize that there are little pieces of all of us in almost all the characters. Here's a few I relate to:

1. James "Sawyer" Ford:

Sawyer is the asshole of the group. In a group that's so closely knit, it's hard to not freak out once in a while. At the end of the day he's a softie, and we all know those moments where we want to say what's on our minds like Sawyer does say in and day out.

2. Kate Austen:

We don't all have a secret identity and I know I wouldn't look as hot as she does if I was on an island for months at a time, but I find myself as vulnerable and closed off as Kate is sometimes. But, she finds what she wants and she gets it, no matter what the cost or consequence.

3. Hugo "Hurley" Reyes

While he annoys the crap out of me sometimes, I genuinely believe I have his luck sometimes (on a much smaller level). He's fun-loving and always wants answers, no matter how many times he asks dumb questions to get them. He does his best which sometimes makes things worse but you know he means well.

4. Jack Shephard

People often tell me that I am always trying to fix people, so I feel like Jack on the island. He assumed being pretty much the leader of the pack since he's a super educated doctor. He doesn't really know where his heads at most of the time, but he will always put people before himself and I know I do that more often than not too, even if it's not good mentally.

5. Sayid Jarrah

In the beginning of the show, Sayid really got under my skin. His backstory and his past can either make or break your impression of him. What I like about him is that he doesn't let his past define who he is. He doesn't lose sight of what and who he is, but he doesn't let all of that stop him. He goes after his dreams and he supports the ones he loves. I'm for sure not as smart as he is, but I wish I was.

6. Desmond Hume

Probably one of the most interesting characters, who came in a little late to the party. His abilities and experiences on and of the island really give us an idea of what his life really was before. He would do anything to keep his friends safe even if he has a weird way of showing it. I really admire him and all he's been through, even though all of the episodes about his backstory break my heart.

I could probably go through the entire cast because this show gives me life. Other than the fact that I heard the ending will ruin my life, but I have a while to get there. Hopefully this inspired you to at least give this wild show a chance. Comment your favorite episodes or characters from Lost below!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
