Are you interested in foreign movies? Do movies make you happy? Are you trying to expand your knowledge of different cultures around the world? Is Netflix your top priority? If you answered any of these questions with an enthusiastic "Yes!" then you are reading the right article!

If you don't know about Bollywood yet -- silently judging you for this unacceptable atrocity-- it is an Indian film industry based in Mumbai whose popularity extends far beyond just Asia. You will be surprised to know that Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, considered to be the most well-known actor in the world, is known more widely than Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Bollywood movies are more than just well executed stories; they are celebration of life, of love, of human emotions, music, culture, and relationships. By the end of the movie, you will either be smiling with joy, crying your heart out, or trying to synchronize steps with the actors as they dance gleefully on the streets of Switzerland.

Here is a list of 6 Best Bollywood movies to start this amazing journey.

1. "Bajirao Mastani"

"Bajirao Mastani" is an epic historical romance film narrating the story of Maratha warrior Peshwa Bajirao, his wife Kashibai and his second wife Mastani. What makes this movie a true masterpiece is how much work and effort the creators put into making it. The movie is a product of years of planning. Each dialogue, each song and each step the characters take is so beautifully choreographed and executed that it would be unfair to call this movie anything less than majestic.

This movie definitely deserves to be on the top of your Bollywood list.

2. "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara"

"Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara" is an internationally acclaimed coming-of-age drama that revolves around the lives of three friends as they try to deal with the adult life. The film takes you in a picturesque journey from India to Egypt, and different European countries. Their amusing journey will make you want to pack your bags and travel around the world with your friends.

This movie is available on Netflix.

3. "Kal Ho Naa Ho"

"Kal Ho Naa Ho" is another critically-acclaimed romantic drama that will make you cry your heart out. If you have never cried before, or are not in touch with your emotions , this is definitely a movie worth watching. The movie is an emotional roller-coaster ride. I challenge you to not cry by the end of the movie.

God is great! He has made this movie available on Netflix.

4. "Queen"

This drama follows the truly heartwarming journey of a bubbly Punjabi woman as she embarks on a honeymoon alone after getting dumped by her fiance the day before her marriage. Her pursuit of happiness is inspirational, and her touristy struggles feel real. This is a feel good movie about realizing your self-worth. The smiles in the movie are contagious and will leave you feeling good about life.

This one is also Netflix. Hallelujah!

5. "Barfi"

"Barfi" is another example of a masterful Bollywood storytelling. The romantic drama depicts the story of a mute and deaf boy named Barfi (Ranbir Kapoor) and his relationship with an autistic girl named Jhilmil (Priyanka Chopra). The lack of any verbal communication between the leads in the movie is completely overshadowed by their expressions. The movie was India's official entry for Best Foreign Language Film for the 85th Academy Awards and deserves a watch.

Available on Netflix!

6. "Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham"

This movie is a must watch for people who love drama, in the movies or in real life. This family drama with with the message "it's all about loving your family" will make you change your definition of intense drama. If you wonder what it is like being raised by extremely possessive and protective South Asian parents, the movie is a must watch for you. Also, get ready for some sass, because there is no one sassier than Poo, one of the leads in the movie.

Let the binge watching begin.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
