The 6 Best Things To Do In Chicago
Chicago Vision

There are so many great cities in the United States and so many of them have various entertainments and specialties, but one of my favorite cities is Chicago. The skylines are eye-catching, the beaches are beautiful, the culture is magnificent, and there are so many amazing things to do there. What are they, you ask? I will tell you!

1. Visit Navy Pier

Navy Pier is a 3,000-foot-long pier that reaches across the shore of Lake Michigan and is full of fun things to do. There is a 196 ft tall ferris wheel, food, shows, shops and fireworks in the summer!

2. Visit the Shedd Aquarium

The Shedd Aquarium is home to more than 32,000 animals that include marine animals, reptiles, amphibians, and birds! With water and animals shows and numerous exhibits, the Shedd is the perfect stop during your visit to Chitown!

3. Go to the Willis Tower Skydeck

The Willis Tower, previously known as the Sears Tower, stands at 1,400 feet and was once the tallest building in the world! That's more than a 1/4 mile. At the Willis Tower, you can rise to the top of the building and stand on a glass platform that towers over the entire city!

4. Go to a Cubs game at Wrigley Field

I may be a biased die-hard Cubs fan, but I have no doubt that Wrigley Field is the best baseball field in the world! Built in 1914, Wrigley Field has been the home to many historic baseball games, concerts and other sports games! Head on down to Wrigley, get a classic Chicago hotdog and watch the Cubbies play their talented hearts out!

5. See a show.

Chicago is home to many, many theaters, including The Chicago Theatre, The Oriental Theatre, The Cadillac Palace, The Private Bank Theatre, The Auditorium Theatre, The Steppenwolf, Chicago Lookingglass, and more! Current shows are "Blue Man Group," "Father of the Bride," "Disenchanted," "Disney's Beauty and the Beast," "The SpongeBob Musical," "The Sound of Music," "The Book of Mormon," "Schoolhouse Rock Live," "Newsies," "Hamilton," "Annie," and so many more amazing talents!

6. Visit the Millennium Park

Millennium Park is a public park located in the Loop area of Chicago. It features beautiful botany, winter ice skating, summer concerts and multiple public art displays, including The Bean! Cloud Gate, also known as The Bean, is a giant, metal sculpture shaped like a bean. A unique sculpture, The Bean is a fun and interesting tourist attraction filled with plenty of mirrors for selfies ;)

7. EAT A DEEP DISH PIZZA

This is the most important one! I don't care where you're from or what you've eaten, even if you've tasted New York pizza, you must eat Chicago's pizza. Chicago was named the NUMBER 1 pizza city in the United States, and it is ready to prove it to you. There are plenty of delicious and satisfying pizza places around the city, but my personal favorite is Lou Malnati's! Chicago born and raised, Lou Malnati's will surely convince you that Chicago is the home to the greatest pizza! And, if none of these activities listed above seem to fulfill your vacation needs, I have no doubt that eating a Chicago deep dish pizza will make your trip worthwhile.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
