Well, Halloween and Thanksgiving are coming up! Sooooo let's talk about Christmas! The season of Christmas is one of my personal favorites. One essential necessity to have a perfect Christmas is the music (aside from family, love, giving, blah blah blah). So I have comprised a list of songs and albums you would need to have a boppin' Christmas.

1. Mariah Carey

This is obvious. Everyone has Mariah (aka Queen of Christmas) on their Christmas music playlist. The best thing about Mariah Carey's Christmas albums is that she has covers of traditional songs and she has original songs (like the iconic "All I Want For Christmas is You" and "Oh Santa").

2. Michael Bublé

Michael Bublé's Christmas album has tinges of Frank Sinatra, but it's very original. Michael stuck to the more traditional Christmas music you know and love with a jazzy snazzy vibe to it. 10/10 recommend.

3. Pentatonix

A cappella, YouTube, sensation Pentatonix puts a more modern twist on classic Christmas tunes by making music with their mouths (it sounds weird I know but i recommend). They cover instrumental Christmas music as well, like, "The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy".

4. Ariana Grande

Anyone who knows me knows I love Ariana Grande. Ariana has dropped Christmas music since 2013. Her first EP had covers of "Santa Baby" and "Last Christmas" and new original songs "Snow in California" and "Love is Everything". Ariana hits both Pop and R&B genres with these three Christmas albums.

5. GLEE

Glee is notorious for covering popular songs you hear on the radio from the past and in the now. Their Christmas albums are strictly covers (of course) but they are still worth a listen. I recommend "Let It Snow" sung by Chris Colfer and Darren Criss for a jazzy twist on the song.

6. Idina Menzel

Broadway Queen, Idina Menzel's Christmas "Holiday Wishes" showcases her smooth, soothing vocals to those classic Christmas tunes everyone knows. She also includes original songs such as "December Prayer".

Recommended Christmas Singles

Some Christmas singles I strongly recommend are:

1. "Cheetah-licious Christmas" by The Cheetah Girls
2. "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" by Sam Smith
3. "O Come All Ye Faithful" by Alex Newell
4. "Sleigh Ride" by Tamar Braxton
5. (also) "Sleigh Ride" by Karmin

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.

For many undergraduates across the nation, the home stretch has begun. Only one more semester remains in our undergraduate career. Oh, the places we will go! For the majority of college seniors, this is simultaneously the best and worst year out of the past four and here’s why.

1. The classes you are taking are actually difficult.

A schedule full of easy pottery throwing and film courses is merely a myth on the average campus. With all of those prerequisites for the upper-level courses and the never-ending battle you fight each year during registration for limited class seats, senior year brings with it the ability to register for the final courses you need to fulfill your major. Yet, these are not the easy entry level courses. These are the comprehensive, end of major, capstone courses designed to apply the knowledge from all your previous courses, usually in the form of an extensive research paper or engaged learning project. The upside is you actually probably really enjoy these classes but alas there is no room for slackers here.
