Pretty sure we are all feeling the stress of mid-terms, group work, projects, and final presentations right about now. I feel like every time I go to class, there is a new homework surprise. The only thing that is saving me right now, is the thought of going to Italy for Christmas. 48 more days ladies and gentlemen. A splendid Christmas vacation to wash all the stress and worries away. An escape from reality helps calm the mind, body, and soul. Are you going anywhere fun for the holidays?
Everything is so festive in Italy during Christmas. The busy streets are lined with beautiful lights and hanging ornaments. Christmas bands on the sides of the streets make people bop up and down as they walk along the streets. Chestnuts are literally "roasting on an open fire" at just about every corner. Families step into one of the hundred churches to visit the Nativity scenes. It's simply a different life. They are truly spending quality time with one another.
I am also looking forward to eating incredible foods. Pasta, fresh fish, stew, and incredible desserts. My gas tank is always filled when I visit Italy. I make sure to make it all up for the months of college food I have to eat.
I am blessed to be able to go to Italy with my dad and aunt Gloria this Christmas. I am truly looking forward to quality time with my family in the country we love.
For all of you students and workers who are feeling beyond stressed right now, take a deep breath, and a slow down. You will get through these next weeks of projects, tests, and presentations. If you are going somewhere fun and relaxing, try to think about that. Use it as your motivation to not give up and do well.
If you are going on a Christmas vacation with your family, make sure to thank them, and enjoy every second with each other. Life is truly precious; make great memories.
