Lets just put it this way, hiking was a lot tougher than I expected.

51 Thoughts You'll Have While Hiking In Colorado
Jenna Warmund

I recently went on a trip with my family to Colorado. Hiking is something I've always enjoyed doing in my spare time, so there was no way I was leaving Colorado without doing some hiking. Although I've been to Colorado multiple times, I had never hiked. I definitely underestimated how much the altitude would effect me and I think my lungs collapsed after about 20 minutes. Here were my thoughts I had while hiking in the Rocky Mountains.

1. This is so exciting, I love hiking!

2. This shouldn't be bad at all.

3. Although, this is a pretty tall mountain.

4. This may take a while.

5. 20 minutes in "heavy breathing"

6. Maybe I should have better prepared myself for this.

7. Should I have brought a map?

8. Nah, I'll be fine.

9. I have my phone.

10. "Checks phone" No service.

11. I use to be a Girl Scout, who needs a map.

12. Or a cell phone for that matter.

13. I think this is more exercise than I’ve had all year.

14. Is this what people call altitude sickness?

15. If I passed out here, no one would find me for days.

16. Days!!!

17. Maybe I should just stop and pretend I made it to the top.

18. There’s a reason they call this the mile high state.

19. Are there bears?

20. Snakes?

21. Oh no.

22. What’s that noise?

23. Water, I need water right now.

24. This is fun? Why do people think this is fun?

25. Dog!

26. Can I pet it?

27. Of course I can.

28. Those people didn’t even look winded.

29. I have sweat dripping from my nose.

30. They’re probably laughing at me.

31. I’m starving.

32. Why didn’t I think to bring a snack?

33. Starving and dying.

34. Half way! I’m half way!

35. There’s surprisingly a lot of rocks on this trail.

36. How have I not tripped yet?

37. This is taking a lot longer than I expected.

38. The view, just think about the view.

39. ‘Trips’

40. That didn’t hurt.

41. Luckily I came prepared with Band Aids.

42. How many miles has it been?

43. It's getting cold up here.

44. Very cold.

45. Just keep hiking, just keep hiking.

46. "Ain't no mountain high enough"

47. Almost there!

48. Wow.

49. Breathtaking.

50. This was totally worth it.

51. Now how do I get back down this thing?

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
