Stop what you're doing and take a deep breath.

Something went wrong in your life. You did badly on a test, your boyfriend or girlfriend broke up with you, you lost your job, etc. Whatever the case may be, it is going to be okay. I know it seems like it's not right now but it will be. You have survived so much in your life already. You can get through this too. I know you can. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel and a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. When you feel like all you can do is give up, don't. Never stop believing in yourself and never stop trying to reach your dreams.

Life isn't always going to be easy and when it's not, it's okay not to be okay. It's okay to be sad, upset or angry. It's okay to cry. It's okay to let it all out if you need to. It's okay if you're tired but don't give up. Sometimes, you have to jump hurdles to finish the race but you started the race, so why not finish it? You came all this way and accomplished too much to stop now. Keep going!

Even though it seems really bad now, you'll look at it later and realize it wasn't as bad as you thought. It'll just be another thing that you survived. You have to take it one day at a time. It'll get easier with time. I know you want it to be better now but time heals all wounds. Stop trying to rush the healing process because you won't recover fully if you don't give it enough time. It will get better. Even if it takes a while, I promise it will.

Don't let your situation define who you are. Just because you're going through a rough patch does not mean that there is something wrong with you. A lot of the time we like to be hard on ourselves when something goes wrong. If our boyfriend or girlfriend breaks up with us, we like to think that it's because we aren't good enough. If we don't do well on a test, we like to think that it's because we're not smart enough. Sometimes, none of it is your fault and sometimes, none of it is under your control. This doesn't mean that you're not good enough or smart enough because you are more than enough. This is just going to make you a stronger person in the end. Every hurdle makes you a stronger. You might feel weak now but you'll be stronger and better later.

It's going to be okay.

"When I look back on my life, I see pain, mistakes, and heartache. When I look in the mirror, I see strength, learned lessons, and pride in myself." -Unknown

"Life isn't meant to be easy, it's meant to be lived. Sometimes good other times rough. But with every up and down, you learn lessons that make you strong." -Unknown

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
