50 Thoughts You Have While Packing
Shorewest

Packing up your room or house or bathroom–whatever it may be–is a pain. I personally don't enjoy it very much. It's stressful, messy, annoying, and it's hard to know where to start. Or when to even start for that matter. There are those packers who begin in advance. They start packing weeks ahead and boxing things they don't need. Then there are people like me who wait until the last minute, more formally known as the night before, and we did ourselves a deep hole.

Either way there's a lot running through your mind while you're packing and here are 50 things that personally go through my brain.

1. Where do I even begin?

2. I should get some boxes.

3. Maybe some totes instead? Those are more sturdy. But I can get rid of cardboard boxes.

4. Okay I'm getting both.

5. How is all of this going to fit in these boxes?

6. Let's just start with this pile of pens and pencils. Yeah, that'll fit.

7. I'm not moving for seven more days. I need my hairdryer still. It can wait.

8. Ooh, nail polish. Wait maybe I shouldn't pack my nail polish. What if I want to paint my toe nails. Okay pack the damn polish.

9. Definitely only wore this shirt two times in the past year but I'm keeping it.

10. Whose shirt is this? Is this mine? Getting rid of it.

11. How did I fit all of this wall art on my walls last year?

12. Oh yeah, I didn't.

13. Which blankets should I bring. I have like 14.

14. And there's so many decorative pillows. Do I need these?

15. Yeah, I need these.

16. I can totally fit all of these shoes into this bin.

17. Nevermind.

18. Oh God this is heavy.

19. I'll just make someone else carry this. And this box. And that bag.

20. I'll pack this box with towels. That'll be light. Yeah.

21. Maybe I shouldn't bring all these DVDs.

22. But maybe I should.

23. Okay definitely bringing all of these movies. I'm not going to the gym who am I kidding. I'll be in bed having a Disney marathon.

24. How big are my windows? Will my curtains fit?

25. Wait do I need to bring a curtain rod?

26. Why am I running out of boxes? I got like 20.

27. Okay I got seven. Stop lying to yourself.

28. Why are these all so heavy. This feels wrong. Maybe I'm just weak. Oh yeah, I don't go to the gym.

29. I'm definitely going to forget something.

30. What will I most likely forget? I should write it down.

31. I guess we'll just find out.

32. Can I do this all the night before I move? Is that doable? I want to wear this hat Wednesday. But I need to pack.

33. Packing these notebooks is depressing. This means classes are starting.

34. OOH! Rainbow highlighters. Yes. This is going to be such a good year.

35. Who am I kidding. How many days until Thanksgiving?

36. Food. I haven't eaten in like an hour. That means I get a food break, right?

37. Maybe I'll just eat a Snickers. I'm not me when I'm hungry.

38. Back to work.

39. WHERE ARE THE BOXES?!

40. Oh crap I have three different shampoo bottles, four conditioners, a bar of soap and two different body washes. I need to get rid of these but I just can't throw them away.

41. Time to lather up next time I shower.

42. I swear I've cleaned out almost my entire closet by now. Why are there still clothes in here?

43. Nice. I'm out of boxes. I can use my laundry basket as a "box", right?

44. Wait what time do I even move in?

45. 10 A.M.?? Ew. No thank you.

46. Guess I'll have to get Starbucks the morning I move in.

47. Oh wow, I've been packing for two hours?

48. Time to take a break.

49. A break for the rest of the day. I've earned it.

50. I'm such a good packer. I'm so organized and efficient and ahead of time on everything. Damn I'm good.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

school

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
