50 Thoughts You Have Your Junior Year Of College
One Class

My thought process when I realized my junior year of college starts in about two weeks... You might feel the same way.

1. Wow. Junior year of college.

2. How did these last two years fly by so fast?

3. Omg, there's only two years left.

4. That means I'm halfway done.

5. That means I'm two years away from being a real adult.

6. That means only four more semesters.

7. Only two years of being a broke college kid.

8. Only two years left of using the excuse that I'm a broke college kid.

9. Two years until my money goes to things besides alcohol.

10. And food.

11. And books that I will never even open.

12. Two years until I earn a real paycheck that I can spend on something an adult would buy.

13. Do adults buy blenders?

14. Maybe I can spend it on a waffle maker.

15. Now I want waffles.

16. Wait, will my mom stop making me waffles when I graduate college?

17. In only two more years...

18. Why can't I wrap my head around this?

19. I swear I was a junior in high school three days ago.

20. I literally just walked across the stage for high school graduation yesterday.

21. And moved into my freshman dorm room five minutes ago.

22. Where did the time go?

23. I'm praying these next two years go by slowly.

24. Can you even imagine being a real person?

25. Because I can't.

26. Like no.

27. Just, no.

28. Working 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday...

29. IN ONLY TWO YEARS.

30. What is happening?

31. Someone get me a drink... or six.

32. I bet adults don't go to bars on weekdays like college kids do.

33. I also don't think adults have crazy pregame parties like college kids do.

34. Man, am I going to miss that.

35. OK, see ya gotta go cry now.

36. Only two years left.

37. Help.

38. What will I do when I don't live with my best friends anymore?

39. I can't raid their closets when I have nothing to wear.

40. Who will tell me if my outfit is cute enough to go out in?

41. I can't be trusted to do that on my own.

42. Half way done with college. Wow.

43. I'm scared to be an adult.

44. How do I do that?

45. Adults wear pants don't they?

46. And bras.

47. Screw that.

48. I don't want to grow up.

49. I want to be in college forever.

50. Well... only two years left.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.
