50 Things I Would Rather Be Called Than Hot

Being a woman means getting called names that are inappropriate and insulting. Basic, bitch, slut... the list could go on and on. We are never deserving to be called these names and are more than what people think we are. I don't care who you are, those names are degrading. If you're like me, you've been hit on or cat-called more times than you want to admit. There are way too many beautiful words in the dictionary to be reduced down to being labeled as "hot" or "fine." So I put together a list of words that I love and I think women should be called:

1. Beautiful

2. Gorgeous

3. Pretty

4. Smart

5. Talented

6. Lovely

7. Strong

8. Hilarious

9. Enough

10. Loyal

11. Open-minded

12. Amazing

13. Valuable

14. Creative

15. Kind

16. Generous

17. Considerate

18. Brave

19. Friendly

20. Imaginative

21. Intelligent

22. Playful

23. Supportive

24. Determined

25. Reliable

26. Loving

27. Enthusiastic

28. Confident

29. Observant

30. Compassionate

31. Insightful

32. Witty

33. Warm

34. Patient

35. Outgoing

36. Independent

37. Easygoing

38. Energetic

39. Upbeat

40. Understanding

41. Thoughtful

42. Artistic

43. Glorious

44. Valuable

45. Wonderful

46. Stupendous

47. Cute

48. Lovely (I just really love this word, so it deserves to be on here twice!)

49. Angel

50. Perfect (As in, "You're perfect how you are.")

Women are beautiful creatures who deserve the world, as are men. Next time you think of calling someone a negative name, think about what that means and try to be positive instead. Plus, you'll earn some brownie points!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
