With digital streaming services becoming increasingly more popular, thousands of hours are sucked away from our lives. Here's a few ideas to get out of your usual routine and perhaps enjoy some oft-forgotten pleasures in life

1. Go for a walk outside.

2. Read that book on my shelf I've been wanting to for ages.

3. Call my family.

4. Draw a Zentangle.

5. Play a game of pickup soccer with friends.

6. Light a few candles and listen to indie music.

7. Slack line.

8. Bake something for a friend.

9. Reflect on the past week/month.

10. Write a journal entry.

11. Relax in a hammock.

12. Donate extra possessions that are cluttering my closet (and life).

13. Read my Bible.

14. Paint a canvas.

15. Practice yoga.

16. Learn every word to a song worth remembering.

17. Do homework.

18. Stargaze.

19. Cook dinner with friends or family.

20. Explore a creek.

21. Pick wild flowers.

22. Learn an instrument.

23. Apply for a job.

24. Research the presidential candidates.

25. Watch a documentary.

26. Paint with Watercolors.

27. Brush up on a foreign language.

28. Take a dream vacation (via Google Earth).

29. Join a political campaign.

30. Spend an hour in sweet prayer.

31. Go hiking.

32. Visit a Farmer's Market.

33. Meet with my academic advisor.

34. Paint my toenails.

35. Play sardines across campus with friends.

36. Create a flower crown.

37. Swim in a fountain.

38. Hit the gym.

39. Start a blog or request to join Odyssey.

40. Go to the beach.

41. Practice various hairstyles.

42. Check my grades on Blackboard.

43. Clean up the yard.

44. Play hostage.

45. Visit the local art museum.

46. Clean my Chacos.

48. Reconnect with an old friend

49. Scrapbook my photo memories.

50. Go to an actual movie theater.

Well, there you have it. While these things are by no means extraordinary or monumental, they are absolutely worth your time and effort.

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
