For the longest time, I didn't believe in making New Year's resolutions. I had grown up seeing them start strong on January 2, maintain consistency through January 16-20, and altogether die out by Valentine's Day. Sadly, I think most people see that. This year, I want to try something new. I'm setting realistic goals for myself that can be attained throughout the year. You can, too.
1. Drink more water
2. Treat yourself
3. Clean more often
4. Focus on 80/20 nutrition
5. Walk instead of drive
6. Learn something new
7. Create a basic schedule
8. Save money
9. Do something you've always dreamed about
10. Volunteer or serve your community
11. Take a weekend with friends
12. Try new food
13. Go to a new place
14. Rid your life of toxic people
15. Write more--journal, take notes, doodle
16. Read more--newspapers, books, magazines
17. Pay it forward
18. Smile more
19. Laugh more
20. Love more
21. Take yourself on a date--movies, dinner, coffee, anything for you
22. Focus on studies/work more--but don't bring it all home
23. Do something artistic
24. Overcome a fear
25. Make a list of your skills
26. Learn more about yourself
27. Show kindness to everyone you meet
28. Acknowledge your flaws
29. Improve your areas of growth
30. Be ambitious
31. Be better than you were yesterday
32. Create a healthy sleep schedule
33. Listen to new music
34. Listen more, and not just to reply
35. Watch the sun set and rise
36. Look at the stars
37. Buy a plant
38. Open up to someone new
39. Be honest
40. Spend more time outside
41. Tell the people that you love, "I love you," more often
42. Don't be afraid to say no
43. Ask for help
44. Get rid of excess "stuff"
45. Build something
46. Don't be afraid to say yes
47. Check your email--and reply
48. Write a letter
49. Say what you feel
50. Set new goals
Nobody has to do all of that. In fact, you don't have to do any of it. But what if you did?
