Bored with all your 'extra time'? Fret not. Here is a list of random things you can do when in need of entertainment or new experiences.

1. Create a positivity jar and fill it with quotes.

2. Give the jar to a friend, or keep it for yourself. Pull quotes every night before bed and hang them up.

3. Take a giant map, pin point a place, and go to it.

4. Go on a photo adventure. Take a friend, perhaps.

5. Start journaling. Aim to write once a day, or every other day. If that's too much, even once a week is fine.

6. Next time you are next to someone you don't know, say hi. See where it takes you.

7. Cook something, or learn to cook something.

8. Reorganize your closet, your dresser, your room even.

9. Help someone else reorganize their life.

10. Choreograph a dance, and then have someone learn and perform your choreography.

11. Write a script.

12. Listen to radio shows. Ray Bradbury has some great ones.

13. Go for a one mile run. Then do it again the next day, and try to beat your previous time.

14. Train for a 5k (3.1 miles), a half marathon, or some other race/competition.

15. Create your own journal, scrapbook, or magazine.

16. Mess around of photoshop - design yourself a personal symbol that represents you. A personal emblem, perhaps.

17. Choose a random book and read it start to finish in one sitting.

18. Pick a random page of a book. Photocopy it, and then black out some words. See what kind of poem/pice of artwork you can create.

19. Choose your favorite line from a book or poem. Use it as your inspiration for a painting.

20. Go to Wikipedia and click on a word. Try and get to the word 'cake' or some other term only through clicking on Wikipedia links within articles.

21. Watch the movie Defiance on Netflix

22. Learn a new language. Try Duolingo if you need a place to start.

23. Pick a random documentary (Minimalism on Netflix is pretty good) and watch it.

24. Research a current hot topic and write an article on it. Keep in mind the audience you are trying to appeal to.

25. Research communication theories. Ever heard of the 'Attribution Theory'?

26. Make a garden. If you can't right now, then plan it out. What will you plant? Where can you get it? Budget? Time frame?

27. Design a pair of sneakers

28. Write a script and film a short film.

29. Start up your own little radio station or podcast system. What are you interested in that would appeal to others?

30. Learn to play a new sport.

31. Learn all the names of the players on your state sports' teams (ex: Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, etc.)

32. Design an app. Don't know how? Look it up and make it happen.

33. Sketch, paint, make a collage

34. Interview three different people about their life (different occupation, gender, religion, etc.). Tie it together with a common theme or set of questions and see how the responses differ.

35. Attend a service of a different religion or one you don't know.

36. Make a bullet journal.

37. Make a list of all your greatest fears and insecurities.

38. Write a letter to your future self - when you get married, graduate college, turn sixty... whatever you want!

39. What are all the things you're grateful for?

40. Write a letter to a friend and actually send it. Maybe include an envelope and stamp inside so they are more inclined to write back.

41. Do you sing? Record a single or an album - even if it's just through your computer!

42. Go for a walk without any electronics. Focus on everything around you. Pay attention to all the little details.

43. Sit in one spot. Focus on what is in front of you. How much can you see, if you really look?

44. Go to a public space and just listen. Listen to the conversations, acknowledge the different sounds. What is happening around you?

45. Meditate in an open field.

46. Make challah or some other type of bread.

47. Volunteer somewhere.

48. Create a motivational pamphlet

49. Design and start a company or business.

50. Go on to Spotify. Click on a song and listen to it. Then, click on the songs that follow and see what you discover.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
