50 Things I Forgot to Thank My Parents For

Mom. Dad. Wow, time has gone by so fast, hasn't it? As I prepare to wrap up my final year of college, I wanted to thank you for all of the little things you have done along the way. Life moves by so quickly, and I have forgotten to take the time to thank y'all for all the help you have given me along the way.

Thank you for:

1. Pushing me when I couldn't push myself.

2. Loving me like Jesus does.

3. Showing me who Christ is in me.

4. Allowing me to figure out who I am.

5. Not being the over-protective parent.

6. Not being the under-protective parent.

7. Being open and honest with me. Even when being honest was the hardest choice.

8. Teaching me to fall in love with learning.

9. And music.

10. The motto dessert is better first.

Thank you for:

11. Raising me as a dreamer.

12. Allowing me to pick my own crazy path for my career.

13. Never pressuring me when I was choosing a school.

14. Always letting me go.

15. Holding me when the dark became too scary.

16. And skipping with me when the sunshine allowed.

17. Being crazy and outside of the box.

18. Loving me when I couldn't love myself.

19. Being people who never give up on love.

20. Being parents who always strive for more.

Mom, thank you for:

21. The endless amounts of laughter.

22. Our crazy thrift store adventures.

23. Gourds ( I know you get it lol).

24. Jesus music in the morning.

25. Christmas music whenever.

26. Britney Spears albums for Christmas.

27. Being the most cute and obnoxious cheer mom there ever was and ever will be.

28. Showing me how to be an outstanding mommy someday.

29. Never missing a performance, school dance, or game.

30. Wacky hair days and donuts in the mornings.

31. Showing me that the easy path isn't always the best path.

32. Always learning and growing with me.

33. Delirious midnight kitchen dance parties.

34. Tears and more tears.

35. Never giving up.

Dad, thank you for:

36. Singing butterfly kisses every night before bed.

37. Dance parties after shower time when I was little.

38. Daddy/daughter dates.

39. Always being a phone call away.

40. Roulette...winner winner winner!

41. Letting me take the reigns sometimes.

42. Football Sundays.

43. Never letting me leave the house without a bow on my head.

44. Always making me feel important.

45. Showing me where hard work can get you.

46. Always striving for what you believe in.

47. Reading me Harry Potter before bed.

48. Lightsaber fights and living room forts.

49. Always finding joy and happiness.

A thousand times thank you for all of this and more.

"I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always. As long as were living your baby I'll be."

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
