1. Spend as much time with your friends as possible.

When you're in high school, you have this belief that you and your friend group will always be close. You have survived the past four years of classes, exams, sporting events, boring assemblies, and even awkward dances. I hate to ruin your dream, but you will probably all go in different directions after you walk across the stage and receive your diploma. Some friends do stay close throughout life, but the likelihood of you and your entire friend group remaining best buds is pretty impossible. You will attend different colleges and universities, pursue different careers, get married and have children at different times or not at all, and even possibly move somewhere besides the place you grew up. This depressing news being said, you still have one last semester to make the best memories.

2.Take a lot of pictures.

You might not be the selfie queen or the king of social media, but pictures are a way to see a time that is only in your memories. You might forget about things you've done or the photograph might remind you of something else. I look back on photographs from different points in my life and it reminds me of who I was and who I have become. These memories are something you will want to capture and hold close forever. You can't go back in time and say, "I want to relive the state championship game or my senior prom, but you can surely pull up photographs from those important life events and reminisce.

3. Get EVERYONE to sign your yearbook.

Teachers, classmates, friends, coaches, teammates, underclassmen, and even administration. You might never look through your yearbooks again, but if you do, you don't want to open it to an empty signature page. Having it filled will give you a sense of belonging and even let you see how people thought of you. Granted, you will get a few, "Have a great summer!"s and, "Good luck with College!"s, but there will most likely be a few heartfelt compositions in there that will spark memories.

4. Do all of the cheesy things.

Dances and proms. homecomings, pep rallies, sporting events, talent shows, and even the senior trip or picnic. Don't skip out on making memories and making the best of your last year as a high school student for the sake of looking, "cool", because when you graduate, you will realize that even the "cool kids," weren't cool.

5. Take it all in.

Pay attention during your graduation and awards ceremonies. Get involved. Don't let these last few months pass by without you at least enjoying the winning touchdown or the quiet girl singing the best solo ever. Don't let life pass you by because you want to be cool or because you think it's unimportant. You never know what could happen to you or others, so spend your time wisely and enjoy your senior year!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
