A new semester is on the horizon, and with it, comes new books to buy. Whether textbooks or just new reading material for the semester, books can get expensive. If you're looking for novels, textbooks, stationary, coloring books, cookbooks or more, you can always find them online. Here are five websites that have discounted prices for books!

1. ThriftBooks

Thriftbooks has both new and used books including textbooks and you get free shipping if you spend at least $10 (inside the US)! If you're making your first order, you can use the code 'SAVEMORE' to get 15% off your first order and they have a rewards program.

2. Book Depository

The Book Depository has both textbooks and regular novels as well, but they have free shipping worldwide! Prices are slightly discounted, and if you happen to order from their site during the BookTubeAThon, you can get even more off of select books, like you can see here.

3. BookOutlet

BookOutlet is probably my favorite place to order books from! They have really nice discounts on stationary, novels, cookbooks and more, but sadly, no textbooks. However, they have large discounts on books, and if you're lucky, they might even have an autographed copy of what you're looking for!

4. Amazon/Amazon Marketplace

Amazon is a great place to buy used books-- especially textbooks!! You can buy or rent, and if you have textbooks you're no longer using, you can sell them back to Amazon for a gift card. Amazon also has special deals for students, so make sure you check out all of your options before checking out! (Hint: You can ever rent e-books.)

5. Half Price Books

Half Price Books has amazing deals on textbooks (and everything else they sell) if they happen to have what you need! Not many people know they have a website that you can order from, so definitely check it out if you can't find what you need! (Hint: They tend to have older editions of classics and such things if you need something older!)

Hopefully you can find what you're looking for on at least one of these websites! Here's to a great semester!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
