Christmas is about giving and seeing people happy because of the gifts you gave them. We often think about everyone but ourselves on christmas because it is considered to be selfish. Well in all honesty it is, but it is okay to be a little selfish every once in a while. So for a long stressful year, here are some ways you can treat yourself for christmas.

Expensive gift/shopping spree

As we get older Christmas gets less exciting because we get less gifts. Christmas is usually for kids and they get all the gifts and they get to have all the fun. So as we get older we have to treat ourselves more because our parents do it less. A shopping spree is a great way to treat yourself, first of all you don't have to deal with grandparents or parents buying you ugly clothes you will never wear. Second you won't have to worry about wrong sizes and other useless gifts. A shopping spree is one of the best ways to treat yourself because you know everything you want and like.

Give more gifts

For some people giving makes them happy. If you're one of those people then this tip is perfect for you! Give more gifts this Christmas even if they are super small. People appreciate the thought more than the amount of money it cost you to get the gift. Especially parents and grandparents, they have had all the expensive gifts when they were younger and just want to know that you are thinking about them. Even with significant others a key chain or something small that they can take with them anywhere they go will be super appreciated.

Save money

This goes with the second tip! It isn't about how much the gift costs, sometimes the sentiment is worth so much more. Some ways that you cna save money on Christmas is by making gifts, or thinking of gifts that mean more than they cost. Some things that you could make are jewlry like friendship bracelets or rings. You could make t-shirts or cards really anything to help save some cash.

Get a dog

What better way to treat yourself than a dog. Adopt or buy, dogs are angels that will always be by your side no matter what. You get to greet their happy faces everyday and they will be your best friend and always listen to all your problems. A dog isn't just good for you, it is a good family pet and can be a friend for everyone in your family. Dogs teach responsibility and they teach people how to care about living beings. They are more than a good gift, they are a great life lesson and teaches a person a lot.

Relax!

The most you can do for yourself is relax. After a long semester of hard work, blood, sweat, and tears. You owe it to yourself to relax. Kickback and binge watch a little netflix. Maybe some office. Some may consider relaxing going some place warm for the winter and others might consider it just sitting in front of a fireplace with family. No matter what your definition of relaxing is, it should definitely be a top priority during winter break! You owe it to yourself to treat yourself.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
