5 Ways to Woo Your Lady for Valentine's Day

Valentine’s Day is a lot of pressure on men in the generation of Twitter. Candy starts coming out as early as after New Year's’ Day, unreasonable dreams are constantly posted online for ladies to gawk at and wish their men would do that for them. But, not all men can afford six bags of Victoria Secret and Sephora, despite the fact they wish they could. Money is expensive, so this article is giving some ideas of some great ways to make your lady happy on one of the most romantic days of the year.

  1. A Fancy Dinner In

I know nothing would impress me more than a man who can cook a delicious dinner, whether it be a chicken pasta dish or something grilled out. You know he cares if he is willing to figure out how to make a dinner, especially if he goes as far to light some candles and offer to do the dishes after. Something as simple as making her dinner and pulling out her chair for her could make her Valentine’s Day memorable.

  1. Breakfast in Bed

Nothing is better than waking up to the smell of bacon cooking, or coffee brewing. Waking up to it already made and ready for your enjoyment while not even having to get out of bed is both thoughtful and easy. There’s no better way to start a romantic day then having her start the day with a smile.

  1. Pajama Party

Most couples I know have very different tastes in television shows. For example, I am a huge reality TV show fan with shows like the Bachelor, the Bachelorette and Dance Moms taking up my time. My boyfriend on the other hand spends his time more watching Burn Notice, Supernatural, and sports. Your girl will thank you big time if for Valentine’s Day, you allow her to choose what you watch for the night without debate or argument, even if it’s a romcom or reality TV shows.

  1. Hiking / Outdoor Activity

Valentine’s Day a lot of places is very dependent on the weather. If the weather allows, in the colder months, everyone needs to get out and get a little fresh air now and then. Find a mountain nearby that you and your lady have never hiked before, and take her on a new adventure. (Plus, it makes a great photo op once you two are at the top if she’s looking for a good V-Day insta post :) If it’s too cold outside for a hike, maybe try a walk in the park or building a snowman. Just spend some time in nature with her making her happy to feel like a child again.

  1. Dance in the Living Room

Dancing has always been one of the most romantic ways of getting close to someone you are interested in. I can guarantee there is no way of sweeping a girl off her feet if she comes into the same room as you, and you’re wearing a suit (or dressed up in any way) and are playing your song together. She’ll have no reservations in grabbing your hand and swaying from side to side with you until the sun rises. If you don’t have a song, maybe pick from the following list depending on her taste:

  • A Thousand Years // Christina Perri
  • Love Like Crazy // Lee Brice
  • Can I Have This Dance // High School Musical
  • The Luckiest // Ben Folds
  • Tenerife Sea // Ed Sheeran
  • All of Me // John Legend
  • Say You Won’t Let Go // James Arthur
  • This Town // Niall Horan
  • Marry Me // Jason Derulo
  • Marry Me // Train

I hope this helps you have a wonderful romantic day with your significant other this year and remember; Valentine’s Day isn’t about making other girls jealous on social media of what you have with your significant other. Enjoy the time you two have together and make the most of every moment you have.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
